Titan Advanced Energy Solutions is a Salem, Massachusetts battery-tech company that uses non-destructive ultrasound and industrial AI to inspect lithium-ion cells at production speed. Its IonSight Digital Teardown platform images the inside of every cell on a manufacturing line - catching layer misalignment, contamination, dry zones, and other hidden defects that CT sampling and electrical tests miss - to improve battery quality, safety, and yield for EVs, grid storage, and consumer electronics.
Tal Sholklapper is the CEO and co-founder of Voltaiq, the company that coined the term 'battery intelligence' and built the de facto standard software for making sense of battery data. A UC Berkeley-trained materials scientist who once finished an engineering PhD in two and a half years, he started Voltaiq in 2012 after years designing batteries and fuel cells convinced him the hardest part wasn't building cells - it was figuring out, fast, whether they were any good. Today his platform analyzes data from manufacturing and validation labs at Toyota, Mercedes-Benz, Meta, and Amazon.
Lyten is a San Jose-based supermaterials company building lithium-sulfur batteries, advanced composites, and sensors on top of its proprietary 3D Graphene platform. Founded in 2015, Lyten makes its 3D Graphene by cracking methane into nanostructured carbon, then uses that material to produce lighter, higher-energy batteries with a domestic, non-conflict supply chain. The company is scaling production from a San Jose pilot line toward a multi-gigawatt-hour gigafactory in Reno, Nevada and a newly acquired European footprint.

The Tesla Model Y is a battery electric compact crossover SUV that became the best-selling vehicle of any kind worldwide in 2023, marking the first time an electric vehicle claimed that title. With over 2.16 million units sold globally, it represents the mainstream breakthrough of EVs into mass-market adoption.
