This policy explains how Source Platforms Ltd, the company responsible for YesPress, handles personal information when you browse our website, use a company newsroom, contact us, or appear in a story or profile.
Information we collect
- Information you provide: contact and account details, company information, biographies, photos, story materials, nominations, messages, and billing or subscription information.
- Information from others: professional information from public websites, company announcements, public records, nominators, and company representatives.
- Website information: IP address, device and browser details, pages visited, and usage or diagnostic data.
Some information is needed to provide an account or paid service. Without it, we may be unable to provide the requested service. Please share only information relevant to your enquiry or story.
How and why we use it
- Accounts and paid services: to deliver the service you request and manage your subscription, under our contract with you. For company representatives, we rely on our legitimate interest in managing the business relationship.
- Research, stories, and nominations: to develop and publish accurate, useful coverage, relying on our legitimate interests in operating an editorial publication, balanced against your rights and reasonable expectations.
- Support, security, and improvement: to answer enquiries, prevent misuse, and improve YesPress, relying on our legitimate interests. Where consent is required for tracking, we rely on consent instead.
- Legal and accounting requirements: to meet our legal obligations.
- Optional marketing and consent-required advertising: with your consent where required. You can withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Using YesPress does not, by itself, give consent to every use of your information.
Stories, public sources, and AI
Stories and profiles may use information supplied by you, your company, a nominator, or public sources. Published material is publicly accessible and may be indexed, shared, or referenced by search engines, social platforms, and AI services. Contact and account information is not automatically part of a published profile.
We use AI-assisted editorial services to support research and drafting, with human oversight. These services may process relevant public information and submitted story material under applicable terms and safeguards.
Where we obtain your information from someone else, we provide privacy information as required by law, unless an applicable exception or exemption applies. You can ask about our sources, request a correction, or object to processing at press@yespress.io. We assess requests individually, including any applicable freedom-of-expression or journalistic protections.
International transfers
Providers may process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Where UK transfer rules apply, transfers require an applicable adequacy arrangement, approved contractual safeguards such as a UK IDTA or UK Addendum, or another lawful transfer route. Contact us for details of the arrangements and safeguards relevant to your information.
Retention, deletion, and security
We keep information for as long as needed for its purpose. Relevant factors include your account or subscription, the continuing editorial value of published content, unresolved enquiries, security needs, accounting duties, and legal claims. Unpublished research and nomination details should not be kept longer than needed for editorial assessment and related follow-up.
When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it. Backup copies may remain until the backup cycle completes. Removing a YesPress page may not immediately remove copies independently held by search engines or other services.
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, but no system is completely secure.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a portable copy of your information; object to processing based on legitimate interests; and withdraw consent. Rights may be limited by applicable law, including protections for journalism and freedom of expression.
Email press@yespress.io with your request and any relevant page link. We may ask for proportionate information to verify your identity. We normally respond within one month, subject to lawful extensions and timing rules, and explain any refusal or limitation. Editorial corrections and legal rights requests may follow different processes.
You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or another competent data protection authority.
Children and policy changes
YesPress is not intended for children under 16. If you believe we hold a child’s information inappropriately, contact us so we can review it and take appropriate action.
We update this policy when our practices change, revise the date above, and provide additional notice where required. A policy update does not replace consent where consent is necessary.
