Atlan is a data and AI control plane - a metadata-driven workspace that helps data teams catalog, govern, and collaborate across the modern data stack. Built like Figma for data, it sits between tools like Snowflake, Databricks, dbt and BI dashboards to give companies a single source of truth for what their data means, who owns it, and whether it can be trusted by humans or AI agents.
Hevo Data is a San Francisco-based SaaS company that builds no-code, automated data pipeline infrastructure for modern data teams. Founded in 2017 by Manish Jethani and Sourabh Agarwal, the platform connects 150+ data sources to warehouses like Snowflake, BigQuery, and Redshift in real time - with zero maintenance overhead. Backed by Sequoia Capital India with $43M in total funding, Hevo serves 2,000+ data teams across 40+ countries, processing over 1 petabyte of data monthly. The company had $46.9M ARR in 2024 and is recognized as a G2 Leader in ETL and iPaaS categories.
Omni Analytics is a San Francisco-based business intelligence platform founded in 2022 by former Looker and Google executives. The company builds a semantic layer that turns raw enterprise data into a governed, AI-ready source of truth. With natural language querying, Git-based version control, and deep dbt integration, Omni enables both technical and non-technical users to get trusted answers from their data. The company reached unicorn status in April 2026 after raising $120M in Series C funding at a $1.5B valuation, led by ICONIQ, with participation from Theory Ventures, First Round Capital, Redpoint Ventures, and GV.
Chris Merrick is the Co-Founder and CTO of Omni, a $1.5B-valued AI analytics platform that raised $120M in Series C funding in April 2026. A Princeton physics graduate and longtime Philadelphia resident, Merrick shaped the modern data stack long before Omni existed - he wrote the first lines of code for dbt, co-created the Singer open-source ETL standard at RJMetrics, and led engineering through Stitch's acquisition by Talend. At Omni, he reunited with college friends Colin Zima and Jamie Davidson to build a BI platform that combines governed semantic modeling with the flexibility of ad-hoc SQL analysis, serving customers like BambooHR, Perplexity, and BuzzFeed.
Colin Zima is the Co-Founder and CEO of Omni, a San Francisco-based AI-powered business intelligence platform that reached a $1.5 billion valuation in April 2026 after raising $120 million in Series C funding. Previously Chief Analytics Officer and VP of Product at Looker (acquired by Google for $2.6B), Zima co-founded Omni in 2022 with fellow Looker veterans Jamie Davidson and Chris Merrick, building a governed semantic layer and self-service analytics platform that achieved profitability while growing ARR 4x year-over-year.
Jennifer Li is a General Partner at Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), where she leads infrastructure investments across data systems, developer tools, and AI. Born and raised in northwest China, she pivoted from international business to software engineering before joining a16z in 2018. Promoted to General Partner in April 2024 at age early 30s - making her the 27th GP at the firm - she now helps lead the $1.25B Infrastructure fund. Her portfolio includes early bets on ElevenLabs (backed Series A through D to $11B valuation), Fivetran, dbt, Mux, and MotherDuck.

Tristan Handy is the co-founder of dbt Labs (formerly Fishtown Analytics), the company behind dbt (data build tool) - the open-source transformation layer that helped define the modern data stack and spawned the analytics engineering profession. Starting with $10,000 of his own money in 2016, he bootstrapped for four years before raising $410M and reaching a $4.2B valuation. Following a 2025 merger with Fivetran, he now serves as Co-Founder and President of the combined entity on a path to IPO. He also writes the Analytics Engineering Roundup newsletter, which has 30,000+ subscribers.
