Karen Chu
Karen Chu is the founder and CEO of HiRO (Harvest Integrated Research Organization), a boutique global contract research organization that bridges clinical trials between Asia, the US, and Europe. A PharmD who spent nearly two decades at Parexel running global clinical operations across 50-plus countries, she launched HiRO in 2020 to help Asian biotechs run trials abroad and Western firms run trials in Asia. Under her leadership the company has expanded through acquisitions including Courante Oncology in the US and PharmaSols in Australia and New Zealand, while positioning itself as global in reach but deliberately mid-sized in ambition.
Louis Licamele
Louis Licamele, PhD is a computer scientist turned drug developer who serves as Chief Development Officer and EVP of Clinical and Data Science at Bloom Science, a San Diego biotech building microbiome-based, ketogenic-mimicking live biotherapeutics for obesity and neurological disease. A founding team member, he oversees biostatistics, clinical data management, and data-driven trial design for the company's lead candidate BL-001. He built his career at the intersection of data and medicine - a BS in biology and computer science from Georgetown, a PhD in computer science from the University of Maryland, and senior informatics and biometrics roles at Vanda Pharmaceuticals and REGENXBIO. He also runs The Licamele Group, advising healthcare companies on data science, AI, and regulatory strategy.
Nventric, Inc.
Nventric, Inc. is a medical device company and contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) headquartered in Arcadia, California, with operations in Seoul, South Korea. Founded in 2019 by engineers with backgrounds at Abbott Vascular and Johnson & Johnson, Nventric designs and builds minimally invasive vascular devices - covering neurovascular, coronary, and electrophysiology applications - from concept through scalable, ISO 13485-certified manufacturing. Its own-branded neurovascular line, including the ULTRIVA stent retriever and EVOGLIDE distal access catheter, targets acute ischemic stroke, while its OEM/CDMO services help device companies move products from prototype to commercialization.
Evan Neu
Evan Neu is Partner and General Counsel at Venrock, the storied venture capital firm born out of the Rockefeller family's investment legacy. Based in Palo Alto, he leads the firm's legal and regulatory strategy while overseeing operations and administration. Before joining Venrock in November 2022, Neu served as Managing Director and Deputy General Counsel at TPG, one of the world's leading global alternative asset managers, and earlier built his legal foundation as an Associate at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP in New York. He holds a B.S. from Cornell University and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
