There is a familiar fantasy in enterprise software: rip out the creaking old system, drop in something modern, and start fresh. In insurance, that fantasy almost never survives contact with reality. The core system that calculates your premium and pays your claim may be older than the underwriter reading your file, and replacing it is a multi-year, nine-figure project that boards approve roughly never. Neutrinos, a company founded in Singapore in 2015, built its business on the opposite premise: leave the old core where it is, and wrap it in software smart enough to make it behave.
That premise sounds modest. Its consequences are not. By treating decades-old policy-administration systems as fixed constraints rather than problems to be solved, Neutrinos positioned itself as the connective tissue of a modern insurer - the layer where legacy mainframes, third-party services and newer AI models are made to talk to one another. The company describes its product as "the first full-stack, AI-native automation platform, purpose-built for insurers," and reports that it is used by more than 25 insurers across 15-plus countries.

01What Neutrinos actually does
The plumbing nobody seesStrip away the branding and Neutrinos sells automation for the three processes that define an insurer's operating cost: underwriting, claims and distribution. These are document-heavy, rules-heavy and, historically, human-heavy. A single life-insurance application can touch medical records, identity checks, actuarial tables and compliance rules before a human decides yes or no. Neutrinos' platform ingests those documents, extracts and verifies the data, scores the risk against configurable business rules, and routes the decision - pushing routine cases through untouched and escalating the genuinely difficult ones to a person.
The company frames this in three verbs: accelerate, integrate, innovate. Accelerate the slow manual processes; integrate the fragmented systems behind them; and innovate on top with low-code tools that let teams build and deploy new workflows without a full engineering cycle. The through-line is that none of it requires the insurer to abandon what it already runs.

02Who is buying it
The customers are insurers and banks, not consumers - this is squarely B2B enterprise software. The name that changed the company's profile is Prudential Financial. In May 2025, Prudential's Simplified Solutions team, part of its US individual life-insurance business, selected Neutrinos to power an end-to-end digital experience for people obtaining life insurance through Prudential's network of embedded distribution partners. It is the kind of reference customer a mid-size vendor spends years chasing.
Prudential is not alone on the client wall. Neutrinos' materials feature carriers including Generali, Manulife and Assupol, and in 2025 the company reported adding a tier-one US life insurer and a Fortune 500 insurer operating across eight Asia-Pacific countries. The pattern is large, regulated institutions - exactly the organizations least able to rip and replace, and therefore most receptive to a vendor whose whole pitch is that they do not have to.
03The problem it solves
Insurers sit on some of the most tangled technology estates in any industry: core systems bought in different decades, bolt-on products from acquisitions, spreadsheets holding processes together, and regulatory requirements that make every change slow. The result is that a task which should be a single automated flow - take an application, verify it, price it, issue the policy - is instead a relay race across disconnected systems and manual hand-offs.
Neutrinos' answer is a unification layer. Its Data Fabric pulls information across those systems into a common view; its orchestration engine coordinates the steps between them; and its automation and AI components handle the repetitive judgment work in between. The stated goal is "touchless" operations for the routine majority of cases, freeing underwriters and claims staff to spend their time on the exceptions that genuinely need a human.

04How it is different
Neutrinos did not start here. In its early years it was a general-purpose, low-code rapid-application-development tool - the kind of platform pitched at any company that wanted to build web, mobile and IoT apps quickly. That is a crowded market, occupied by heavyweights like OutSystems, Mendix, Appian, Pega and Microsoft's Power Platform. The strategic move was to stop competing horizontally and go vertical: take the same underlying technology and aim all of it at one industry.

Focus is the difference. Against horizontal low-code vendors, Neutrinos offers insurance-specific accelerators - pre-built components for underwriting, claims and policy servicing - rather than a blank canvas. Against insurance-core vendors like Guidewire or Duck Creek, it offers the opposite of a replacement: a layer that sits over whatever core an insurer already has. That "work around it, don't replace it" stance is the clearest line separating Neutrinos from both sets of competitors.

The 2025 addition of an agentic AI composer and orchestrator - software that can chain AI actions across a full process - is the layer the company is now leaning on hardest, and the reason it describes itself as "AI-native" rather than merely AI-enabled.
06The business, and where it fits
Neutrinos sells the way enterprise infrastructure companies sell: platform subscriptions and licensing, paired with implementation and solution-accelerator services, to a small number of large accounts. It was bootstrapped rather than venture-fueled - a quieter path that shaped a company more focused on landing marquee references than on chasing headline funding rounds. Third-party revenue estimates for the company land in the single-digit-to-low-double-digit millions, and the team numbers roughly 280 people, headquartered at 10 Anson Road in Singapore with a US presence in Princeton, New Jersey.
Its place in the market is a specific one: the automation and orchestration layer for insurers who have decided that modernization does not have to mean demolition. That is a narrower slice than "low-code for everyone," but it is a slice with deep pockets and long contracts. The 2021 Gartner Magic Quadrant recognition validated the underlying technology; the 2025 Prudential engagement and Silver Globee award validated the vertical bet. Whether Neutrinos becomes a category-defining insurtech or a well-regarded specialist depends on how many more Prudentials it can sign - but the strategy is coherent, and increasingly rare in its discipline.
