The Seattle-area technology company pairs consulting muscle with a shelf of homegrown products - betting that enterprise transformation works better when the people drawing the blueprint can also build the machinery.

The modern enterprise has a junk drawer. DataBeagle goes sniffing through the dark

The clearest expression of that loop is DataBeagle, Audax Labs' data-intelligence platform. Most corporate information is not sitting politely in a database row. It lives in emails, images, audio, video, PDFs, scanned paper and old file formats. DataBeagle collects and processes that unstructured material, then adds search, enrichment, classification, review, tagging, redaction, masking, dashboards and export.

Its AI features include optical character recognition, speech-to-text, image search and contextual classification. The result can support eDiscovery, compliance, governance, migration or an investigation. A bank can look for sensitive information and risky communications. A life-sciences organization can organize research and regulatory records. A police agency can search across digital evidence rather than opening each file in sequence.

In June 2026, DataBeagle appeared with Hitachi Vantara at the International Police Expo in New Delhi. The pitch was concrete: help investigators move through fragmented evidence from mobile devices, messages, documents, images and recordings while preserving evidentiary integrity. It is a much sharper proposition than generic “AI for the enterprise.” The user knows the pile of files. The platform promises a faster way through it.

The printer that explains the company

An older project offers an even better picture of Audax Labs' instincts. In 2018, Hitachi needed a more efficient way to maintain industrial printers. Audax Labs built an Android tablet application that recognized a marker on a machine, displayed information such as ink level, viscosity and warning messages, and connected to Hitachi through the cloud.

The app also showed preventive-maintenance information and performance indicators including uptime, downtime and print count. A technician could prepare before arriving, address several issues in one visit and use the overlay as on-the-job guidance. Because a marker could be placed on an older printer, the approach did not require every customer to replace its installed equipment first.

That last detail matters. Enterprise buyers rarely get to begin with a blank sheet. Audax Labs' value is in making a new interface coexist with an old asset. The same logic appears in an Azure-based HVAC monitoring project that connected multiple units to web and mobile applications, enabling remote operation, alerts and more deliberate service visits. The technology is interesting; fewer truck rolls are the point.

The catalog can look eclectic: evidence search beside boat configurators beside obsolete-software tracking. There is a common thread, however. Each product makes a difficult body of information visible at the moment someone needs to act on it.

Who buys, and what they are really buying

Audax Labs organizes its market around automotive, banking and financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, and government. DataBeagle adds media, life sciences and law enforcement to the picture. The likely buyers are technology leaders, operations teams, compliance departments, investigators and product groups with a specific workflow that cannot be solved by switching on a generic cloud feature.

They are buying fewer manual searches, fewer disconnected interfaces and less risk around old systems. They may also be buying speed: a partner able to handle requirements, architecture, interface design, engineering, testing, deployment and ongoing support without handing the work across a chain of vendors.

Partners widen the bench

Competitors arrive from both sides. Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant and Globant can pursue the same modernization budgets. In data discovery and eDiscovery, OpenText, Relativity, Microsoft Purview, Elastic and Exterro offer established alternatives. Audax Labs' distinction is not raw size. It is the willingness to combine product engineering, emerging technology and legacy integration in one engagement.

The company's own language emphasizes an Innovation Lab, but the public record is grounded in delivery. Its website carries named testimonials from Microsoft personnel, Hitachi Vantara, Luz Capital and Bonsai Media Group. Those figures are self-reported, so they are best read as how the company measures itself rather than an independent ranking.

The headquarters address is in Bothell, Washington, in the Seattle area, while CEO Deepak Nagpal is based in Pleasanton, California. The distributed geography fits a company selling a mix of remote engineering, partner work and enterprise delivery.

For customers, the practical question is not whether Audax Labs can demonstrate AI, AR or IoT. It is whether the firm can connect a selected technology to a measurable workflow: finding evidence, servicing a printer, monitoring HVAC, identifying obsolete software, configuring a complex product or moving an application off a legacy platform. Its strongest public examples do exactly that.

The interesting product is often the bridge: old asset to new interface, dark file to visible answer, experiment to operating workflow.

Where Audax Labs fits now

Enterprise technology has moved into an awkward phase. AI raises expectations, but the underlying data and applications have not magically become clean. Cloud programs coexist with mainframes.
