The digital back office for Indonesia's small businesses - point-of-sale, inventory, accounting and payroll in one app.
Indonesia counts more than 64 million micro, small and medium enterprises. They are the cafes on the corner, the barbershops two doors down, the laundromats and convenience stores that keep neighborhoods running. Most of them, until recently, kept their books in paper notebooks and tracked stock from memory. majoo was built for exactly that gap: a single, affordable app that hands a small merchant the same operational software a national retail chain takes for granted.
Founded in Jakarta in 2019 by Adi Wahyu Rahadi, with co-founders Audia Rizal Harahap and Bayu Indriarko, majoo started as a point-of-sale system. It has since expanded into an end-to-end platform - one dashboard that ties together the cashier, inventory, accounting, employee management, customer relationships and online sales channels. The pitch is deliberately unglamorous: fewer spreadsheets, fewer surprises, and a clear view of what a business actually made today.
That focus found its moment during the pandemic. As foot traffic collapsed, merchants needed to sell online overnight - and majoo already connected their offline tills to marketplaces like Tokopedia and Shopee and to GrabFood. The company reported roughly 8x growth through that period, and by its Series A had crossed 45,000 active merchants across more than 600 cities, processing over 166 million transactions worth close to $970 million.
"Digitalization plays a major role in transforming MSMEs and helping Indonesia's MSMEs evolve."
Adi Wahyu Rahadi — Founder & CEO, majoomajoo bundles the tools a small business would otherwise buy - or improvise - separately. The online cashier records sales and accepts digital payments from BCA, OVO, GoPay, ShopeePay, LinkAja and DANA. Inventory tracks stock in real time with barcode scanning and low-stock alerts. Accounting turns each sale into a bookkeeping entry, so profit and loss is a screen, not a chore.
Around that core sit employee attendance and payroll, a CRM with loyalty programs, business analytics, and an Owner App that lets a merchant watch sales, stock and staff from their phone while they are away from the counter.
majoo's customers are Indonesian MSMEs - the UMKM economy. Food & beverage outlets, cafes and restaurants make up a large share, alongside retail stores, barbershops, laundromats, convenience stores and beauty businesses.
These are owner-operators, not IT departments. So the product is priced and packaged in tiers - Starter for a business taking its first digital step, Advance for growing merchants, and Prime and Prime+ for established, multi-outlet operations. A reported 12-month retention rate above 80% suggests merchants who try it tend to stay.

majoo sells software as a tiered subscription - Starter through Prime+ - so a merchant pays for the capabilities they need today and upgrades as they add outlets and staff. Layered on top are value-added services: payments, financing, supplies and advertising. The model turns a one-time POS purchase into a long-run relationship, which is why retention matters more here than any single sale.
majoo competes with Indonesian and Southeast Asian MSME platforms such as Moka (GoTo), Pawoon, Olsera, Qasir, Youtap and iSeller. Its bet is breadth: rather than a standalone cashier, majoo ties operations, finance and an ecosystem of capital and mentoring into one product - meeting small merchants at their stage instead of asking them to stitch tools together themselves.
