Buoyant Aero
Buoyant Aero builds zero-emissions, self-flying advertising blimps and rents them out as a turnkey service. Founded in 2020 by MIT hardware engineers Benjamin Claman and Joe Figura, the company (Y Combinator S21) started out designing unmanned cargo airships for middle-mile delivery, then turned the same self-flying blimp technology into 'Blimps-as-a-Service' - electric, camera-equipped ad blimps up to 35 feet long that fly pre-planned routes over events, retail launches and conferences for brands like Amazon Prime Video.
Aerolane
Aerolane is a Texas aerospace company reviving one of aviation's oldest tricks - the towed glider - for modern air freight. Its engineless Aerocart gliders are pulled behind conventional turboprops in a formation the company calls a 'sky train,' letting a single lead aircraft carry a second load of cargo. By eliminating engines and fuel on the trailer and surfing the lead plane's slipstream, Aerolane claims up to 65% lower operating costs and up to 50% more range, aiming to bring air-speed delivery closer to the cost of ground transport.
PRENAV
PRENAV digitizes the world's critical infrastructure with drones, LiDAR, 3D analytics, and deep learning. Its web-based platform, PRENAV.XYZ, combines photogrammetry with AI to turn drone imagery into detailed 3D digital twins, then scans them for cracks, corrosion, and structural damage - resolving surface features smaller than 0.2mm. Founded in 2013 in Redwood City, the company replaces dangerous rope-and-scaffold inspections of cell towers, wind turbines, bridges, dams, and even nuclear reactors with automated, precise, GPS-independent drone flights.
SkyGrid
SkyGrid builds high-assurance, third-party software services that safely fold autonomous aircraft, drones, and eVTOL air taxis into shared airspace. Born as a 2018 Boeing and SparkCognition joint venture and now a subsidiary of Wisk Aero, the Austin-based company delivers a real-time digital twin of the low-altitude sky - weather, obstacles, traffic, and vertiport status - plus automation and decision-support tools that route, synchronize, and deconflict flights at scale.
Jia Xu
Jia Xu is CEO of SkyGrid, the Austin, Texas company building high-assurance airspace integration software for autonomous and unmanned flight. With a PhD from Stanford, dual master's degrees from Imperial College London and the London School of Economics, and career stints at the RAND Corporation, Airbus, General Atomics, and Honeywell Aerospace, Xu brings rare cross-disciplinary depth to one of aviation's hardest problems: teaching machines to share the sky. Under his leadership since August 2023, SkyGrid pivoted from generic airspace software to become a specialized third-party services provider for advanced air mobility - and was acquired by Wisk Aero (a Boeing subsidiary) in June 2025.
Nathan Schuett
Nathan Schuett is the founder and CEO of PreNav, a Redwood City company that builds drones guided by computer vision to inspect the infrastructure most people never look at - cell towers, wind turbines, bridges, smokestacks. The idea started as a half-serious plan to fly coffee across a cafe and grew into a navigation system precise enough to fly a robot within centimeters of a steel structure without a GPS signal or an expert pilot. A Stanford computer-music graduate who detoured through video games and robotics, Schuett now also lists himself as founder of Forming AI, the next chapter of turning the physical world into analyzable 3D data.

Odys Aviation is a Long Beach, California deep-tech aerospace company building long-range, hybrid-electric vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft. Its blown-wing design lets aircraft lift off and land anywhere - no runway needed - while flying farther and carrying more than battery-only eVTOLs. With two platforms, the Laila tactical cargo drone and the larger Alta regional aircraft, Odys targets defense, logistics and passenger markets, and has amassed more than $11 billion in signed letters of intent.

Adam Bry
Adam Bry is co-founder and CEO of Skydio, the leading U.S. drone manufacturer and world leader in autonomous flight. A childhood R/C aerobatics national champion turned MIT robotics researcher, he turned down a DJI acquisition in 2014 to bet everything on autonomy — and won. Today Skydio has deployed over 60,000 drones to every branch of the U.S. military, 1,200+ public safety agencies, and 45 of 51 state transportation departments, with a $4.4 billion valuation and $3.5 billion U.S. manufacturing expansion underway.
