The Story
Wiring the plumbing of Indonesian commerce
In 2013, ordering an industrial valve or a case of cleaning supplies for a small Indonesian business often meant a fax machine, a stack of phone calls, and a lot of guesswork about price. Ralali.com started from that unglamorous friction. Rather than chase consumers, founder Joseph Aditya pointed a marketplace at the parts, tools and supplies that keep workshops, warehouses and warungs running - the boring middle of the economy that almost nobody was digitizing.
More than a decade later, that bet has compounded. What launched as a marketplace for MRO (maintenance, repair and operations) and industrial goods has grown into the Ralali Group - a B2B ecosystem serving, by the company's own count, more than 1.4 million businesses and 1.5 million users, with cumulative transaction value north of US$850 million. Suppliers number in the tens of thousands, spread across roughly 13 industries. The pitch is simple enough to fit on a business card and hard enough to have taken years to build: connect the people who make things to the people who need them, then remove every reason a small business would give for not going digital.

The Founder & Expertise
A supply-chain instinct, not a startup hunch
Joseph Aditya founded Ralali and still leads it as CEO. He came to the problem with roughly 18 years in B2B and supply-chain work - the kind of background that shows up in the roadmap. Where many founders start with a slick app and hunt for a problem, Ralali started with a problem understood in the bones: procurement in Indonesia was fragmented, opaque and unfair to the smallest buyers. The mission the company repeats - to build "a fair procurement supply chain" - reads less like marketing than like a grievance finally being addressed.
The mission is to create a fair procurement supply chain to help MSMEs grow their businesses.Ralali's stated mission
That framing also explains the ecosystem sprawl. Once you decide your job is to help a small business grow - not just to sell it screws - financing, agents, branding and logistics stop looking like unrelated products and start looking like obligations.
