At Darr Equipment, the finance chief had become a kind of human search engine. The business ran on two systems. Financial information arrived weeks late. Managers who wanted a coherent answer came to Jack Camiolo, the CFO. In the company’s published customer account, he remembers the arrangement plainly: “I am the keeper of all the information.”
Consider what that means in an equipment dealership. A manager needs to know where a machine is, what work it needs, whether a part is available and what the customer owes. Each question crosses a departmental boundary. When the answers require one person to assemble them, growth gives that person a longer queue.
- Connect the business: sales, parts, service, rental and finance share operational information.
- Build for the yard: dealer-specific workflows and manufacturer connections supply the detail.
- Make adoption count: migration, practice and training determine how useful the software becomes.
Darr moved to e-Emphasys ERP, one of VitalEdge Technologies’ core products. Its account describes managers gaining access to live information across branches. In an accompanying company article, Camiolo recalls the CEO independently spotting a rental-fleet depreciation error shortly after go-live. The queue had acquired another person capable of answering questions.
One yard. Several businesses.
VitalEdge makes software for equipment dealers and rental companies. Those customers sell machinery, maintain it, supply replacement parts and put assets out on rent. The work spans agriculture, construction, material handling and other equipment industries. Selling the machine begins a relationship that service and parts departments must continue.
Its e-Emphasys ERP connects enterprise operations and financials. IntelliDealer DMS handles dealership workflows across sales, service, inventory, rentals and accounting. Connected applications add mobile service, customer portals, document handling and business intelligence. A technician can record work in the field; the office can use that information without waiting for a handwritten sheet.

The advantage is specificity. Equipment dealers need to connect manufacturer systems, parts orders, warranty processes and rental assets. VitalEdge reports more than 40 OEM integrations. Its partner network also includes Billtrust for billing, TARGIT for analytics and Microsoft for cloud and AI technologies.
Other specialists compete here. DIS QuipWare serves construction and material-handling dealers; Texada offers equipment dealer, rental and CRM software. Texada even documents an integration with e-Emphasys. Buying enterprise software involves overlapping ecosystems. The useful comparison is how each handles the dealer’s actual work.
One machine keeps changing jobs.

Two systems, one company
VitalEdge’s own history is a consolidation story. Private equity firms TA Associates and True Wind Capital invested in e-Emphasys in November 2021. In May 2023, e-Emphasys combined with CDK Global Heavy Equipment, the business behind IntelliDealer. The announcement said both software suites would continue to be sold and supported.
The company adopted the VitalEdge name in January 2024. Brand researchers had asked clients what the business meant to them. Customers described the software as vital and said it gave them an edge. The product names stayed. It was a practical way to put two established systems under a common identity.
Now the machines can report back
The portfolio has since spread further around the yard. Integrated Rental joined in September 2025, adding specialized rental operations software. LHP Telematics followed in July 2026, bringing supported machine information such as location, engine hours, utilization and fault data. That creates an opportunity to connect what a machine is doing with what the dealership should do next.
VitalityAI, announced in March 2026, adds dealer-specific AI agents to this collection. The rollout is phased. Insights Agent uses Microsoft Copilot to help people explore operational data. The current product page lists Tech Assist as available for e-Emphasys, with IntelliDealer availability coming later; intelligent rental rate automation is also marked as coming soon.

That distinction matters when evaluating a purchase. An announced suite contains ambitions as well as shipping capabilities. VitalityAI received a Tech Ascension Awards recognition in September 2026. A buyer still needs to establish which agents run on their platform, with their permissions and their data.
The migration needs a buddy
Parallel Ag offers a useful account of the work underneath a rollout. The agricultural dealership had accumulated businesses across seven states. For roughly a year, it operated two systems that could not communicate. Parts visibility stopped at the system boundary. Producing dependable financial reports became difficult.
Its team proposed a six-to-eight-month phased transition to IntelliDealer. They tackled infrastructure, cleaned duplicate customer and vendor records, and gave employees a sandbox for practice. A six-week training schedule offered morning and afternoon sessions. Experienced users were paired with newcomers through a program called Intelli-Buddies.
“We married the IntelliDealer name with the buddy system.”
Jeremiah Johnson / VP of Operations, Parallel Ag
The transferable lesson is wonderfully ordinary: let people learn before their mistakes touch live records. Give them someone nearby who knows the work. The software supplies common information; the rollout helps people trust and use it.
Ask to see your own workflow
VitalEdge sells through consultations and demonstrations. The commercial scope includes core software, connected applications and services such as implementation, training and support. For a buyer, the calculation includes migration effort and staff time alongside the contract. Parallel Ag’s schedule makes those commitments tangible.
Weeks→Days
Financial close after implementing IntelliDealer. A customer account, not a guaranteed outcome.WC Tractor reports shortening its financial close from weeks to days after adopting IntelliDealer. Results depend on execution. A sensible evaluation follows a used machine, a service job and an invoice across departments. Check manufacturer connections and machine-data coverage. LHP explicitly says coverage varies by source, equipment and configuration. The test is whether the people doing the work can get the answer themselves.
