Since 2016, VBC has been building the unglamorous plumbing of trust - traceability, supply-chain and blockchain-as-a-service systems that farmers, factories and provinces actually use.
There is a mango in Dong Thap province, and by the time it reaches a supermarket in the United States, it carries a story - where it grew, who picked it, which standards it met. Vietnam Blockchain Corporation wrote the technology that lets the story travel with the fruit.
Founded in 2016 in Ho Chi Minh City by Do Van Long, Vietnam Blockchain Corporation - VBC - is a science and technology company with a deliberately narrow obsession: making blockchain do practical work. Where much of the industry chased tokens and speculation, VBC went after a quieter problem. Vietnam exports rice, coffee, pepper and fruit to the world, yet producers have long struggled to prove provenance to demanding buyers. That gap - the distance between "trust me" and "verify it" - became the company's business.
Its answer is a stack of applied blockchain products, anchored by Agridential.vn, a digital traceability and value-chain platform. Scan a QR code on a bag of coffee or a crate of mangoes and you reach a record that cannot quietly be edited after the fact. To date VBC reports more than 10 million such codes issued and over 800 products traced - numbers that describe deployment, not a pitch deck.
The company frames its ambition in national terms. Its stated mission is to help Vietnam become a "Blockchain Country" and an expert hub for the region. That is a large sentence for a roughly 20-person firm, but VBC has spent nine years backing it with the least glamorous kind of evidence: shipped software, government pilots and export-grade compliance.
VBC sells applied blockchain across nine sectors - agriculture, manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, e-commerce, fintech, the sharing economy, public services and smart cities. Three offerings anchor the portfolio.
A blockchain-powered digital traceability and value-chain management platform for agriculture. It delivers farm-to-fork provenance, QR-code tracing and compliance with VietGAP and GlobalGAP - the standards that unlock export markets.
Since 2019Consulting, development and deployment of custom enterprise blockchain applications - from manufacturing and logistics to fintech and smart-city projects. Blockchain treated as infrastructure, not ideology.
Since 2016Production-management and traceability systems deployed for provinces, wholesale markets and enterprises - including roughly 600 businesses across Vietnam's Central Highlands coffee belt.
Since 2018Provenance. Buyers in the US, EU and Japan want proof that produce meets safety and sustainability standards. Paper certificates can be forged or lost; a shared, tamper-evident ledger cannot be quietly rewritten. VBC turns compliance into something scannable.
Enterprises and government - agricultural co-operatives, provincial authorities, wholesale markets, manufacturers and logistics firms. Development agencies too: VBC has worked with USAID (via IESC) and KPMG Vietnam on traceability for agricultural SMEs.
Global platforms like IBM Food Trust and VeChain arrive as imported systems. VBC is built inside the Vietnamese value chain - fluent in local standards, provinces and producers, and priced for SMEs rather than multinationals.
Founder Do Van Long logged 19 years in ERP, CRM, SCM and finance leadership before blockchain. That engineering-first background shows: VBC ships product for real operations rather than whitepapers.
VBC runs a B2B and B2G model. Revenue comes from three places: blockchain consulting, custom solution development and deployment, and platform or subscription services - Agridential.vn chief among them. It sells to enterprises, agricultural producers, provincial governments and development agencies, and layers in international partnerships and grant-funded pilots.
That mix reflects a strategic choice. A pure-play SaaS company scales fast but shallow; a pure consultancy scales slow but deep. VBC sits in between - productizing what it learns from provincial deployments, then reselling the platform to the next co-operative. The 180-plus partners and customers on its books are less a vanity metric than a distribution network.
The recognition has followed the work. Agridential.vn took third prize at the 16th Vietnamese Talent Competition in 2022 and a Bronze at the ASEAN ICT Awards in 2021; the company was named a Most Promising AgTech Startup in APAC back in 2019. In 2021 VBC raised capital - a Series A - to expand its engineering team and carry Vietnamese-built blockchain solutions across Southeast Asia.
