Vidur Mahajan Makes Every AI Sit for an Interview
A physician who once had to choose among scattered radiology algorithms is building the neutral layer that tests, hires and watches them at work. His ambition now stretches far beyond the reading room.
Adam Yala
Adam Yala is a UC Berkeley and UCSF assistant professor of Computational Precision Health turned founder, now CEO of Voio, a Berkeley AI startup building frontier radiology models. At MIT he created Mirai and Sybil, open-source AI tools that flag breast and lung cancer risk years early and are now studied at more than 90 hospitals across 30 countries. In late 2025 Voio emerged from stealth with $8.6M in seed funding and Pillar-0, billed as the most accurate open AI model for radiology, with a mission to make being a radiologist more empowering rather than to replace the profession.
Doktor Gurson
Doktor Gurson is the Co-founder and CEO of Rad AI, the leading generative AI platform for radiology, powering over 50% of U.S. health systems. A serial entrepreneur and Y Combinator alum, he started his first internet company at age 15 - a domain registrar that became the world's 32nd ICANN-accredited registrar. At Rad AI, which he co-founded in 2018 with radiologist Jeff Chang, he has built a $525M company that automates radiology report generation, reducing radiologist burnout while improving diagnostic accuracy across more than 200 hospitals and health systems.
Ken Kaufman
Ken Kaufman is the CEO of Sirona Medical, a San Francisco-based cloud-native radiology platform backed by $118M in funding. A radiology IT veteran with decades of experience at IDX Systems, McKesson, and Allscripts, he co-founded PureWellness — a population health platform that grew to 15 million users and was acquired by Cerner in 2013. Now at Sirona, he is driving the company's mission to rearchitect radiology software with AI at its core, helping radiologists read faster, practice everywhere, and generate reports with unprecedented efficiency.
Nishith Khandwala
Nishith Khandwala (Nish) is the co-founder and CEO of Bunkerhill Health, a San Francisco-based AI company building the operating system for clinical action inside health systems. A Stanford computer scientist who started in AI labs with no healthcare background, he pivoted after physicians walked in with real clinical problems - and after his own father's heart attack forced him to ask why his coronary calcium AI wasn't reaching patients. Bunkerhill's Carebricks platform now powers 7+ clinical domains at major health systems including UTMB, HCA Florida, MedStar, and WVU Medicine. The company has raised $30.4M from Sequoia, Optum Ventures, and Y Combinator, earned multiple FDA clearances, and landed Nishith on Forbes 30 Under 30 and the inaugural Mayfield Divot AI List.
Chris Mansi
Chris Mansi is a Cambridge and UCL-trained neurosurgeon turned AI entrepreneur, and the Co-founder and CEO of Viz.ai - the company that puts an AI brain between a CT scanner and a surgeon so that patients who are about to die of a stroke stop dying from delays. Named to TIME100 AI in 2024, Mansi built Viz.ai from a Stanford dorm-room insight into a platform covering nearly 2,000 U.S. hospitals and 230 million lives, reducing stroke diagnostic timelines by more than an hour - one patient at a time, every ten seconds.
