Ionblox
Ionblox is a Fremont, California battery company building high-energy, high-power lithium-ion cells around a proprietary pre-lithiated silicon (SiOx) anode. Spun out of the earlier Zenlabs Energy effort and rebranded in 2022, the company targets two demanding markets - electric vehicles and electric aviation (eVTOL) - with cells that it says exceed 330 Wh/kg and can charge to roughly 60% in five minutes while holding up past 1,000 cycles. Backed by eVTOL maker Lilium, Applied Ventures, Temasek and Catalus Capital, Ionblox has raised about $32M in Series B funding and holds more than 40 patents.
Anyware Robotics
Anyware Robotics is a Fremont, California startup building deployable physical AI for industrial work. Its first product, Pixmo, is a mobile robot that drives into a shipping container or trailer and unloads boxes - up to about 1,000 cases per hour - using a force-sensing collaborative arm and an AI stack the company calls AnywareOS. Founded in 2023 by former UC Berkeley researchers and FANUC engineers, the company aims to take over the back-breaking jobs that warehouses can no longer reliably staff.

A veteran hardware engineer with roughly nine years at Apple leading iPhone development, followed by stints at Zoox (Director of Advanced Hardware Engineering) and Cruise (Head of AV Hardware Systems), Yang founded Pebble in 2022 after a pandemic-era RV trip convinced him the category needed a complete reinvention. His mission: make RVing as intuitive as using an iPhone. The Pebble Flow - a 25-foot, 45 kWh battery-powered trailer with Magic Hitch autonomous attachment, NVIDIA DRIVE Orin-powered automation, and Scandinavian-minimal interiors - earned a spot on TIME Magazine's Best Inventions of 2024 list and began delivering to its first customers in early 2025.
