The company that would become SupportYourApp did not begin with a pitch deck about reinventing customer experience. It began with a practical interruption. A startup in the same Kyiv building was preparing to launch a Mac application in the United States and needed someone to answer the messages that would follow. Nearby, a small software support department knew how. It took the work.
That request exposed a business hiding inside a cost center. Technology companies could ship globally before they could hire a global support team. Their users still expected an answer at midnight, in their own language, from someone who understood the product. Daria Leshchenko, then a student working night shifts around her classes, had already rebuilt the department's processes after becoming its leader. The team began serving more outside companies and, in 2010, the operation started the path toward an independent business.
Today, SupportYourApp says it supports more than 250 clients with more than 1,500 specialists across 30-plus countries and 60-plus languages. Its named customers have included Mastercard, Calm, Glovo, MacPaw, Cardo Systems and Softorino. The legal company is based in Delaware; the operating story remains distinctly Ukrainian - a service business born in Kyiv's software scene, scaled across borders and forced to become unusually good at distributed work.
The ticket is only the visible part
Calling SupportYourApp a call center is technically convenient and strategically incomplete. Phone answering is one line item. The broader offer includes customer and technical support from Level 1 through Level 3, live chat, social-media care, help-desk administration, back-office work, KYC and identity verification, content moderation, data annotation and customer-experience consulting. Teams can be shared among clients or dedicated to one product. The company also audits and migrates help desks built on Zendesk, Freshdesk, Intercom and Gorgias.
What the buyer is really purchasing is operational elasticity. A SaaS startup might need weekend coverage without hiring an entire second shift. A hardware maker may need agents who can troubleshoot a physical device in French, German and English. An ecommerce company can face a holiday spike that triples its ticket volume. A fintech platform has the additional problem of letting an outside team handle sensitive workflows without weakening security.
SupportYourApp's answer is product immersion. Consultants are selected and trained for a client's tools and voice, then placed inside a managed system of quality checks, performance reporting and escalation. The work can start with inbox relief and expand into sales routing, onboarding, community management or partner operations. In one published back-office case, a consultant handled Salesforce onboarding, partnership letters, case triage, webinars and incentive tracking. The job description had wandered far beyond answering email.

Now the service business is bottling its method
The most interesting shift is SupportYourApp's move from using technology to deliver a service toward selling a technology stack of its own. Its Support Intelligence Hub groups four products around the support conversation. SupportVoice handles inbound and outbound calls. SupportResponse is an autonomous agent for routine digital questions. SupportBrain drafts replies, finds answers and summarizes threads while leaving a human in control. SupportCRM collects channels, customer history, calls and reporting in one workspace.
This is not simply a chatbot attached to an outsourcing contract. It is an attempt to assign different kinds of work to different operators. The machine is useful when the question is common, the policy is clear and the answer can be checked. A person is useful when the customer is angry, the product is behaving strangely, the account carries risk or two correct policies point in opposite directions. SupportBrain sits directly on that boundary: the AI proposes; the consultant reviews, edits and sends.
The company says SupportResponse can resolve up to 81 percent of chat tickets autonomously in some deployments, while a Softorino voice pilot cut first-response time to near-instant for routine calls. Those figures are vendor-reported outcomes, not universal promises. They still reveal the commercial logic. Automation absorbs predictable volume; managed teams handle exceptions; one vendor remains responsible for the handoff.
A bridge in a split market
Customer support is dividing into two loud camps. Large business-process outsourcers such as Concentrix, TELUS Digital and TaskUs sell labor scale, process discipline and global facilities. AI-native companies such as Sierra and Decagon sell software that promises to resolve more conversations without an agent. Established help desks - Zendesk, Intercom and Gorgias among them - are adding their own AI layers.
SupportYourApp occupies the bridge. Its differentiation is the combination of product-trained staff, workflow design, multilingual reach, proprietary software and compliance credentials under one operating relationship. The company holds ISO/IEC 27001 certification and PCI DSS Level 1 service-provider status; it also describes its operations as aligned with GDPR, CCPA and HIPAA requirements, with the necessary contractual conditions for protected health data.
That security posture matters because outsourced support can become a side door into a client's systems. Agents may see addresses, order histories, payment questions, account recovery details and private correspondence. SupportYourApp's data-processing terms describe encryption, role-based access, firewalls, monitoring, backups, incident response and access reviews. These controls are less photogenic than a friendly headset. They are often the reason a regulated buyer can sign.
Its business model follows the complexity. Pricing is quote-based rather than posted as a single per-seat number. Cost varies with shared or dedicated staffing, languages, operating hours, support level and volume. Clients can begin with a small team or one AI product and add capacity. SupportCRM is required for SupportVoice, but the company says the four AI products otherwise can be adopted separately. This makes the sale closer to designing an operation than buying a subscription.
For a buyer, that design work can be more valuable than the headcount. A poorly built support queue hides its own causes: unclear onboarding creates repetitive questions, weak ticket tagging conceals a product defect, and scattered tools force an agent to reconstruct the same customer every time. SupportYourApp can make money by staffing the queue, but its deeper expertise lies in changing the queue - choosing channels, defining escalation paths, connecting the help desk and measuring what keeps returning.
That also explains why the company concentrates on technology businesses. A consultant supporting a photo editor, payment app or motorcycle headset is not reading a generic script. The person needs enough technical fluency to distinguish a forgotten password from a synchronization failure, and enough curiosity to turn a strange complaint into a useful bug report. The work becomes part service, part troubleshooting and part field research for the product team.
The small details that explain the big company
SupportYourApp's timeline is full of useful physical details. Its first office was a 200-square-foot corner in an open-plan space. By 2017, the team had reached 100 people; by 2020, it reported 800. When the pandemic arrived, Leshchenko said the business moved more than 500 people to remote work in three days. The company lost roughly 15 percent of its clients at the beginning of the shock, then said it recovered and doubled by year-end.
The culture has been built around that distributed reality: language proficiency, continual training, internal mobility and enough process to move people between projects. Its Kyiv office featured murals by contemporary Ukrainian artists, a surprisingly warm detail for a company obsessed with compliance controls. Recognition followed - an Inc. 5000 appearance in 2024, another announced in 2026, workplace awards, and Inc.'s inclusion of Leshchenko among 200 Female Founders in 2023.
The quieter achievement is longevity. Leshchenko has said MacPaw, the company's first client, remained a client 15 years later. A Cardo Systems case study describes a four-year relationship in which SupportYourApp doubled a multilingual team during a European expansion while meeting service targets. In outsourced operations, where switching vendors can be painful but dissatisfaction is fatal, duration is a useful score.
The company now has to manage the same transition confronting its industry. If AI handles more routine work, service providers cannot merely sell hours. They must sell judgment, orchestration and measurable outcomes. SupportYourApp has an advantage because its software is being shaped around years of live operations. It also carries a risk: it must prove that its own tools can keep pace with well-funded software specialists while maintaining the people-heavy delivery that made the company large.
The original neighboring startup did not ask for a platform. It asked for help. SupportYourApp's history is the story of repeatedly turning that plain request into a system: first a department, then a service, then a global workforce, and now a layer of software deciding which questions need a person. The technology has changed. The customer is still waiting.
