THE BRIEF /
SOFTERMII / CUSTOM SOFTWARE + AI ENGINEERING / APEX FIXED-PRICE PACKAGES

Company / The delivery question

Softermii wants to put a price on certainty

The software company is packaging years of custom development into fixed-price builds. Its real bet is that reusable engineering and human judgment can make delivery less of a guessing game.

A renter finds a house on a phone. The house has a smart lockbox. In principle, the visit can happen without an agent carrying keys across town. Then comes the part that software brochures tend to skip: can the renter actually work the app?

That was the problem Softermii describes in its Rently case study. The first version fell short on usability and functionality. The assignment was to improve the web and mobile experience around property listings, maps, payments and keyless access. A clever business model had encountered a stubbornly ordinary obstacle: the interface.

The quick read
  • Softermii builds custom software and AI systems for businesses.
  • Its reusable engines target communications, property apps and software delivery.
  • APEX packages start at $2,995; defined scope does the heavy lifting.

01 / The door is only the beginning

Softermii’s Rently work ran from July 2017 to January 2019. Analysts developed use cases and personas; designers produced mockups; development and release followed. The sequence is familiar because the problem is familiar. Software has to accommodate people who have somewhere else to be.

Another assignment followed a similar pattern. Dollar Shave Club needed an Android shopping experience that could handle its subscription business and complex backend. According to Softermii’s account, the previous development effort had missed expectations for usability and delivery speed. Softermii rebuilt the app, working in weekly sprints with the client’s internal team and testing the experience.

Those projects help explain the company’s place in the market. Businesses hire Softermii when they need a product built, repaired or extended, and need engineering capacity beyond what they already have. The deliverable might be an app, an operational platform or an integration that customers never notice.

02 / Custom work, familiar parts

Founded in 2014 by Slava Vaniukov and Andrii Horiachko, Softermii now describes a workforce of more than 120 engineers and a record of over 200 delivered projects. Its portfolio spans healthcare, real estate, fintech, logistics and communications. These are company-reported totals, useful as a sense of scale.

The service menu covers discovery, design, web and mobile engineering, testing, cloud infrastructure and support. Customers can commission a project or add a dedicated team. That places Softermii in the crowded software services market, where buyers also consider internal hiring, other agencies and increasingly capable application builders.

Its more distinctive answer is to keep useful foundations. VidRTC supplies communications capabilities such as video calls, messaging and calendars. Apartmii provides a starting engine for property applications, including recommendations and virtual tours. Both address a practical question: why pay to rediscover the same engineering decisions on every project?

APEX extends that logic to delivery itself. Softermii describes purpose-built AI agents operating behind quality gates, directed by senior specialists. Product, architecture, design, engineering, QA and security remain human responsibilities. The proposition depends on knowing which work can be repeated safely and which decisions deserve somebody’s full attention.

03 / Put the estimate on the table

The current pricing makes that proposition unusually concrete. Softermii lists APEX Proof at $2,995 for five working days and roughly 15 features. Build costs $10,995 for 20 working days and roughly 100 features. Scale costs $29,995 for 60 working days and roughly 350 features. Enterprise work receives a custom quote.

Here, a feature means a business-ready capability containing multiple tasks and user stories. That definition matters enormously. Before approving a package, a buyer needs the named list and a demonstration of what completion means. Model and infrastructure running costs are estimated in the offer; maintenance after the warranty is a separate decision.

Historical projects show how different custom work can be. In a Clutch interview published in July 2023, Digital Joy reported spending about $65,000 on a media module and saving 400 to 500 hours. The client praised communication and bug fixes while suggesting better follow-through after delivery. That is a more useful buying lesson than a universal promise about cheap software.

04 / What happens after the demo?

Consider RadShifts, a marketplace connecting radiology providers with facilities in Texas. Softermii reports delivering a first working version in six weeks with a core team of eight. The build included a facility web portal, a provider mobile app and an administration portal sharing one backend.

The less photogenic details explain the work: background checks, credential records, shift status, messaging and Stripe Connect payouts. Matching people is only one part of a staffing marketplace. Someone also has to establish eligibility, reconcile payments and handle an unsuccessful transaction.

For DrTalks, the problem changes. Softermii built an embeddable healthcare chat widget that searches a provider’s uploaded knowledge before generating an answer. Providers manage content and settings through a dashboard. The design links the conversation to material the practice controls; it still calls for careful content review and testing.

05 / Borrow the discipline

Softermii’s published values favor challenging client ideas early, making clear commitments and avoiding burnout. Its public GitPanel repository offers another glimpse of practical engineering: a self-hosted tool for delegating GitHub organization administration with permissions, approvals and an audit trail.

The useful habit to copy is specificity. Pick one workflow. Identify its exceptions. Agree what a successful demonstration must show, who approves it and what arrives at handover. Reusable components help when the workflow fits; uncertain requirements, unavailable integrations or unresolved data permissions can overwhelm any short delivery schedule.

Return to the renter outside the house. A working lockbox matters. So do the map, the account and the button that makes sense under a distracted thumb. Softermii’s wager is that enough of this work can become repeatable to make its price predictable. The buyer’s job is to make the promised outcome equally clear.
