On February 25, 2019, Stryker announced that it had completed the acquisition of Arrinex. For Mojgan Saadat, the company’s co-founder and President, that date marked a change in the ownership of a business she had helped bring into being. Arrinex had been founded in 2013. In 2020, she co-founded Inquis Medical with Vahid Saadat. Put those dates beside each other and a career comes into focus: six years of building one company, a completed deal, then another beginning.
Acquisitions tend to make satisfying endings. There is a buyer, a seller and a date suitable for a commemorative slide. A founder’s career is less obliging. The company changes hands; the person keeps working. Saadat’s record runs through an incubator, a China-based launch, a business built around heads-up displays, the presidency of Arrinex and now the shared chief executive role at Inquis. The punctuation between those chapters is worth as much attention as the titles.
Today she is Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Inquis Medical, based in Menlo Park, California. She is based in nearby Atherton. In January 2026, Inquis announced a $75 million Series C financing round. That announcement supplies the current chapter with a number and an assignment: commercial expansion across the United States and further product development. To understand the career behind it, start with the earlier company whose ending has a precise date.
The deal with a date on it
Arrinex’s chronology has three useful markers. Founded in 2013, it began commercializing its product in the United States in late 2017. Stryker completed its acquisition in February 2019. Those dates distinguish starting a business, taking its product to market and transferring ownership. Each is a different event. Together they describe a company that moved beyond its founding announcement and into commercial activity before joining a larger organization.
Saadat served as President. Vahid Saadat, her fellow co-founder, served as CEO. The roles placed both names in the leadership of the same venture, several years before they would share the Co-CEO title at Inquis. For Mojgan, Arrinex is a particularly legible chapter: a founding role, an executive position and an acquisition confirmed by the buyer. Her responsibility as President places her directly in that company’s six-year progression.
Stryker’s announcement explained how Arrinex would expand an existing portfolio. That is the buyer’s view of a deal: where the acquired company fits, what it brings and how it extends the business already there. Mojgan’s career supplies another way to arrange the same chronology. Arrinex was one of the companies she had helped launch. Its acquisition became a completed entry in a professional record that would soon include a new venture.
Later in 2019, Mojgan and Vahid were both listed as speakers on an “IPOs and Mergers” panel at a Wilson Sonsini conference. The program put them alongside executives from Silk Road Medical and Cephea Valve Technology, with Philip Oettinger moderating. The subject was the requirements for completing transactions. Following the February acquisition, their names appeared on an agenda devoted to precisely that stage of company life. The deal had become part of a wider business conversation.

A career with several first days
Arrinex came after other beginnings. Saadat has been a partner at Nidus Medical, an incubator and angel investment entity, and led the launch of its spinoff companies. An incubator gives her story a different starting point from the familiar picture of a single founder with a single idea. Her work included helping new businesses emerge from an organization built to support them. Launching companies was already part of her professional experience.
Before co-founding CogniTX, she led the launch of Seris Medical, a China-based company. That entry places an international business in a career otherwise closely associated with Silicon Valley. Her role was launch leadership. It also gives the sequence a useful distinction. Some of her work involved co-founding a company; some involved bringing one into operation. Both belong in the record, with their own verbs intact.
CogniTX added another kind of technology to that sequence: heads-up displays. Saadat co-founded the company before Arrinex. A display is a different object from an incubator or an acquisition agreement, and it widens the range of technologies in the companies she has helped start. The recurring connection is her participation in company formation. The different ventures give that recurring work several forms.
Her education also spans two subjects. She holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology and Computer Science. Her education also includes San Jose State University. The two degree subjects make a compact, memorable pair: the living world and the computational one. They sit alongside a work history involving different technologies and different company roles. A résumé can compress all of this into a few lines. Read in sequence, those lines have considerably more movement.

Two names on the door
Inquis was founded in Silicon Valley in 2020. Mojgan and Vahid Saadat are listed as its Co-Founders and Co-CEOs. Their earlier Arrinex roles make this arrangement part of a continuing working partnership. At one company, President and CEO; at the next, the chief executive title shared. The sequence matters because it keeps Mojgan’s own leadership role visible while also showing the colleague with whom she has built successive businesses.
A shared title naturally attracts attention. At Inquis, the structure includes two founders, two Co-CEOs, both also listed on the board. The company’s leadership page places their names together. Their joint history supplies continuity between the company acquired in 2019 and the company founded in 2020.
Other colleagues connect the two businesses, too. William Jason Fox, now listed as Inquis’s Chief Operating Officer, previously served as Arrinex’s Vice President of Research and Development. His career makes the connection larger than the founding pair. His earlier position places another member of the current leadership within the history of Arrinex. Here, the overlap is concrete: a former Arrinex executive holds a leadership position at Inquis.
The money has an assignment
Inquis announced a $40 million Series B in November 2024. Marshall Wace led the round, with participation from existing investors including ShangBay Capital, Yu Star, EnPointe Ventures and Pierre Lamond. Andrew D. Goldberg, a portfolio manager at Marshall Wace, joined the board in connection with the financing. The announcement therefore described two changes at once: additional capital for the company and an addition to its governance.
Saadat’s response gave equal space to the product work and the people doing it. Existing investors were participating alongside the new round’s lead. That combination places the financing within a continuing set of business relationships. A funding announcement is a brief document, but the list of participants records who is returning and who is taking a new position.
“underscores a strong belief in both our technology and our team”
Mojgan Saadat, November 2024 financing announcement
January 2026 brought the $75 million Series C. The strategic investor was undisclosed. Inquis said the money would accelerate nationwide commercial expansion and advance its next-generation product pipeline. The announcement also looked back to the Series B, dating that round’s completion to August 2024. November was its public announcement. Keeping those two dates distinct gives the financing history a more accurate rhythm than simply treating every announcement as the day a deal closed.
Announced round sizes. Company financing, in US dollars.
Saadat described Inquis as ready to “scale our market presence and advance our innovation roadmap.” The two ambitions sit beside each other: expanding the current business and developing what comes next. They are the company’s stated plans for the investment. In the longer career sequence, the round belongs to another stage after founding, just as commercialization and acquisition were separate stages in the earlier Arrinex chapter.
The names beyond the founders
Inquis’s current leadership roster includes responsibility for finance, operations, commercial activity, electronics and systems engineering, regulatory affairs and quality assurance, and marketing. These are the functions surrounding the founders’ shared role. The list gives the company’s expansion plans an organizational setting. A commercial business requires people with different responsibilities, and those responsibilities become visible when the executive roster is read beyond its first two names.
Saadat has also offered a smaller, less formal glimpse of colleagues in public. Reposting an Inquis update about Nancy Senko and Amanni Herbawi, she wrote: “Superstar duo! So proud of this team!” The company update concerned their work in Ohio. Her response was short, enthusiastic and addressed to a pair. Alongside the formal executive biographies and financing statements, she gives recognition to people working elsewhere in the organization.
The contrast in scale is appealing: millions of dollars in one announcement, two colleagues in another. Both appear in her public working life. One records a company transaction; the other names people. A profile of a founder benefits from keeping both in view. It preserves the business history while allowing a brief, verified human moment to occupy its proper size. The team celebration has a smaller audience and a more personal register than the financing announcements, while belonging to the same working life.
For Saadat, the current chapter has those several dimensions: shared leadership, a team with defined responsibilities, an announced national expansion and a further product pipeline. Behind it sit Nidus, Seris, CogniTX and Arrinex. The order gives the story its shape. February 2019 was a conclusion for one company’s ownership. The following year brought another company into being. In January 2026, that newer business acquired capital for its next stage. The dates keep moving.
