The trouble began with the boxes. In a logistics engagement described by Market Performance Group, inconsistent case packs were creating inventory errors and disrupting stock management. MPG standardized the packs, aligned the product assortment with demand and secured a distribution partner. The company reports nearly $300,000 in first-year savings. A problem that looked like warehouse housekeeping had been quietly eating the business.
- MPG connects consumer goods strategy with sales, marketing, analytics and logistics.
- Its pitch rests on people who have worked inside manufacturers and retailers.
- The useful lesson: inspect the handoffs between winning demand and collecting cash.
That is a useful place to begin understanding MPG. Its vocabulary includes social commerce, consumer insights and retail media. Its work also includes labels, deductions and overdue invoices. Somewhere between those two lists sits a surprisingly consequential question: how much of a brand’s growth disappears after someone has already decided to buy?
The invoice has a plot twist
MPG operates across the commercial life of consumer products. It advises on where to grow, represents brands to retailers, develops marketing, analyzes categories and helps manage orders and logistics. A manufacturer can use it to rethink pricing or launch a product; another can hand over ongoing account work. FleXforce supplies interim specialists when a role is vacant or a team needs cover.
The customer list gives the business some definition. MPG publishes testimonials from Bayer Consumer Health, Omron Healthcare, Ricola, Prestige Brands and The Vitamin Shoppe. It also serves emerging brands and consumer products investors. A cough drop maker, a healthcare supplier and a retailer have different problems, but each depends on the unromantic coordination of demand, distribution and execution.
Consider another anonymous engagement. Payments were arriving two to three times later than standard terms. MPG introduced electronic data interchange, streamlined processes and deployed an experienced collection team. It reports cutting days sales outstanding by an average of 40 days. The product had already sold. The intervention concerned how quickly that sale became usable money.

People who have sat in the other chair
Founder Marc Greenberger established MPG in 2002. The agency’s present positioning leans heavily on operating experience: people who have worked for the manufacturers selling products and the retailers deciding what earns shelf space. Jason Reiser, CEO since April 2025, previously held leadership roles at Walmart, Sam’s Club, Dollar General and The Vitamin Shoppe.
That background matters because a retailer’s decision is rarely just a judgment on a product. It involves an assortment, a price, a delivery requirement and a shopper. MPG offers category management and retail representation alongside marketing. Its SmartSights service adds analytical support; the proprietary RI-BIT platform brings multiple data sources into an omnichannel dashboard.
The market is crowded. Acosta Group also sells retail representation, connected commerce, marketing and analytics. MPG’s distinction therefore needs to be tested in the work: can its particular mix of operators, retailer knowledge and execution teams solve the client’s actual constraint? A long menu of capabilities is useful only when the people behind it can cooperate.
Buying the missing pieces
MPG’s expansion helps explain that menu. Insignia Capital invested in December 2020. When it announced MPG’s sale to Sentinel affiliates in January 2024, Insignia said revenue had tripled during its ownership and seven acquisitions had expanded the business. Insignia reinvested alongside Sentinel. This is a privately backed services company assembling adjacent skills.
In 2024, those additions crossed distinctly different shopping worlds. Wodika Devine brought expertise at Meijer and Walgreens. Team Go added social commerce capabilities, including TikTok Shop. E.A. Langenfeld opened up hardware and home improvement. The connecting idea was retailer-specific knowledge: the habits that help sell a beauty product online are not sufficient preparation for a hardware buyer’s requirements.

The video still needs a shelf
One oral care engagement shows how the pieces can meet. GO Digital by MPG moved the brand from still images toward creator-made short-form video across social platforms, then directed a retail campaign toward particular stores. MPG reports a 25% lift at Walmart against baseline and a cost below $5 per thousand impressions. These are campaign-specific results; impressions and profitable repeat purchases remain different measures.
The more recent developments extend the same logic. In February 2026, MPG partnered with Reverse Solutions on returns management and product recovery. In March, it expanded its Pacvue partnership to connect retail media, ecommerce operations and performance analytics more closely. Returns sit after the purchase; media sits before it. Both can affect what remains of the margin.
“Commerce today requires media, operations, and analytics to work as one system.”

Do the arithmetic before the expansion
The company’s stated culture includes candid debate, resourcefulness and curiosity. Its 2024 community program reported 107 events and 1,552 volunteer hours. For a business built from specialist teams, the interesting question is how those habits travel across the organization and into a client engagement.
A brand can copy a practical habit from this model: trace one order from discovery through payment, and give each expensive handoff an owner. Reiser’s writing on Amazon cautions that selling directly to Amazon brings forecasting, compliance and payment obligations. Brands with thin margins, uncertain demand or insufficient working capital may be better served by another model. Adding channels can multiply a weak process.
MPG sells help across those decisions and the work that follows. The sensible buying question is specific: which constraint needs fixing, who will do it, and what will improve? Sometimes the answer will involve a new campaign. Sometimes it will begin with the boxes.
