An echocardiogram is one of medicine's most common windows into the heart. A sonographer glides a probe across a patient's chest, sound waves bounce back, and the beating heart appears on screen. But the picture is only half the job. Someone still has to measure the chambers, trace the valves, calculate the ejection fraction and write it all into a report - a process that can take a skilled reader many minutes per study, and that depends on expertise many clinics simply do not have on hand.
Us2.ai was built to close that gap. The company makes software that takes a raw echo study - the DICOM files straight off the ultrasound cart - and returns a complete, fully editable clinical report in seconds, with no manual clicks or tracing. It measures dozens of parameters automatically and flags disease patterns from heart failure and aortic stenosis to pulmonary hypertension and cardiac amyloidosis.
The pitch is not that AI replaces the cardiologist. It is that the cardiologist starts from a finished draft instead of a blank one. In an echo lab where reporting capacity limits how many patients can be seen, and where specialist time is the scarcest resource, that shift changes the math of the whole department.
Founded in Singapore in 2017 under the name eko.ai, the company rebranded to Us2.ai in 2021 after winning its first US FDA clearance. Today its platform - marketed as an "AI Echo Copilot" - is cleared by the FDA, CE marked in Europe and, the company says, active in more than 28 markets.
