Company / Enterprise software

UNIFY Dots makes the handoffs work.

A sale, a shipment, a service call. UNIFY Dots builds the Microsoft-powered connections that help a business follow the whole story.

Position Partners had a wonderfully revealing name for its software overhaul: Project Nirvana. The Australian positioning and geospatial equipment business was using Navision, Dysel, QuickBooks, Xero, Filemaker and Total Control. Six systems. The announcement describing the project explained the consequence: duplicate data entry and limited connections between departments. A customer could be perfectly visible in one corner of the business and inconveniently distant in another.

THE STORY IN THREE POINTS
  • UNIFY Dots implements Microsoft Dynamics 365 across finance, operations, sales and service.
  • Its own extensions tackle specifics such as grower contracts, mobile orders and renewals.
  • The useful buying test: follow a real transaction across departments before choosing software.

In April 2021, Position Partners announced that it had selected UNIFY Dots after demonstrations and proofs of concept with several vendors. The intended scope crossed finance, supply chain, sales, customer service and field service. The decision makes sense when you think about what this customer actually does: selling equipment is only one part of a relationship that also includes installation, hire, repairs and support.

Six systems, one customer

That is the territory UNIFY Dots occupies. It implements Microsoft's business software and helps organizations connect the processes around it. Enterprise resource planning, or ERP, covers the financial and operational machinery. Customer relationship management, or CRM, handles sales and customer interactions. The value of joining them appears when the next person needs the information the previous person entered.

Consider a service visit. The company's Dynamics 365 Field Service offering covers work orders, dispatch, equipment histories and mobile access. A scheduler can match a technician to a job using skills and location. The technician can see the assignment and record work. These are ordinary actions with a demanding requirement: the right information must travel with the job.

LifeStyles Healthcare presents another version of the problem. Its published case study describes fragmented ERP systems and difficulty consolidating financial reporting. UNIFY Dots implemented Dynamics 365 Finance, Supply Chain Management and Human Resources across six entities, with Power BI for reporting. The account reports automated financial reporting and accounts-payable automation using invoice scanning. Its useful detail is the scope: several entities needed a shared financial picture.

The rehearsal is part of the product

UNIFY Dots calls its implementation framework ACCELERATE. Behind the brisk name sits a collection of process diagrams, scenario documents, migration templates, training materials and tests. Its published ERP method describes conference-room pilots, user acceptance testing and cutover checklists. These address a less glamorous question than which features to buy: who will make the transition work?

The approach favors understanding standard Dynamics processes before adding customizations. That creates a practical lesson for buyers: bring a complete business scenario to the demonstration. Ask the salesperson, warehouse operator and finance user to walk through the same transaction. A feature list can look convincing while leaving the handoffs unexamined.

The leadership has spent years in this market. CEO Sandeep Walia previously ran Ignify and led Hitachi Solutions' Asia Pacific and ANZ business. Technical adviser Pankaj Kumar also worked at both organizations. That continuity helps explain the emphasis on repeatable delivery. The firm is selling experience with business applications alongside the applications themselves.

A grape is not a generic widget

The distinction becomes clearer in the extensions. UNIFY Dots' winery solution handles grower agreements, production stages and batch traceability. Vintage and appellation belong in its inventory vocabulary. ERP for Seed adds grower contracts, processing, quality testing and settlements. These products apply a broad financial and supply-chain platform to the peculiarities of what customers produce.

Other additions are less agricultural. Unified Mobile Order Entry lets field staff prepare quotes and orders, including offline entry that synchronizes when connectivity returns. Unified Contract Management covers templates, reminders, renewals and invoice generation. Each tackles a place where an employee would otherwise have to remember a detail, chase a document or enter information again.

The price lives in the scope

The commercial relationship combines implementation work, software extensions, cloud licensing and support. Its product pages invite customers to request quotes. A sensible budget therefore separates licenses from configuration, integrations, data migration, testing, training and ongoing service. A purchasing team should ask which of those obligations its proposed price includes.

There are choices at two levels. A business can evaluate another platform, or select a different partner within Microsoft's ecosystem. UNIFY Dots competes on its delivery approach and industry expertise in that second decision. Its Microsoft FastTrack Portfolio selection, announced in February 2025, adds access to implementation guidance and Microsoft specialists for eligible projects.

Fit still matters. A straightforward operation with a single workflow may have little reason to commission a broad implementation. As an assessment of the offering, its logic strengthens when several departments, entities or service activities must coordinate. The customer also needs people available to test processes and learn the system; the published methodology explicitly assigns that work.

AI arrives at the same doorway

UNIFY Dots now advertises Copilot agents for tasks including expenses and maintenance. Its 2026 announcements report ISO 9001 certification and Microsoft's Copilot Jumpstart Ready tier. These are company-reported milestones. The underlying question for a buyer remains concrete: which task will the agent perform, using which records, with whose permission?

The company's other commitment is unusually tangible: its current About page pledges at least 15% of annual profit to organizations providing education for children from low-income families. A published impact report describes school support through Lotus Petal Foundation. Business plumbing and education may seem distant, but both appear in the company's stated purpose.

For anyone considering UNIFY Dots, the most useful starting point is a troublesome handoff. Choose an order, a repair or a renewal. Trace where it waits, where it gets typed twice and who needs to see it next. Then ask for that sequence in the demonstration. Project Nirvana is a memorable name. A transaction that reaches the next desk is a test you can run.
