The Scene

A nurse rings a doorbell that a clinic never could.

It is a Tuesday morning in an American suburb. Somewhere a phone was answered, a form was filled, a match was made - and now a certified nurse is standing on a porch with a flu shot, or a swab, or a folding chair to sit beside an 84-year-old who has not had company since Sunday.

That porch is TrueCare24's entire thesis. For most of the last century, care meant you travelling to it: the waiting room, the clipboard, the fluorescent hum. TrueCare24 runs the arrow the other way. Care travels to you - at home, at the office, or through a screen - and the messy machinery behind it (scheduling, vetting, replacements, payroll, taxes) is quietly handled by the platform so nobody in the transaction has to think about it.

Founded in San Francisco in 2016, the company started with a stubbornly simple conviction: our loved ones should be able to get high-quality care regardless of their income or status. That is easy to put on a slide and very hard to make solvent. Home care in America runs $25 an hour and up. TrueCare24's answer was to treat care like a two-sided marketplace, wire it with AI matching and automation, and squeeze the price down to somewhere between $10 and $18 an hour without squeezing the people delivering it.

What You Can Actually Do With It

Six ways the clinic comes to you.

Home & Senior

Senior Home Care

Live-in care, personal care, Alzheimer's and dementia support, companionship, errands. The platform handles matching, replacements, payroll and taxes.

Mind

Behavioral Health

Counseling by licensed clinical social workers - in-home, on-site, or virtual - with a focus on seniors and assisted-living communities.

Workforce

On-Demand Staffing

A 100,000-strong network of nurses and clinicians dispatched to organizations for events, clinics and workforce health programs.

Prevention

Flu Vaccination

On-site flu shots administered by certified nurses for employers of every size, coordinated across multiple locations.

Screening

COVID-19 Control

On-site antigen, antibody and PCR testing, test kits, proctored testing, daily remote symptom checks and vaccination programs.

Virtual

Telehealth & Risk

Virtual visits, diabetes-prevention screening and health-risk assessments delivered wherever the patient happens to be.

The Economics

Same care. Roughly half the hourly rate.

The trick was never charging less for less. It was removing cost the patient never wanted to pay for in the first place - the overhead, the middlemen, the idle hours.

The Two Missions
We provide care to those who need it - and we help those who provide care, provide it.
— TrueCare24, on its dual mission

Most care companies pick a side. They either romanticize the patient or optimize the worker. TrueCare24's stated pitch is that you cannot do the first without doing the second - that a caregiver drowning in paperwork, chasing a paycheck, and guessing at next week's schedule is not going to deliver good care no matter how noble the mission statement. So the platform eats the administrative burden: legal, scheduling, replacements, payments, payroll, taxes. The caregiver is left with the one thing they signed up to do.

It is an unglamorous position, and the company leans into it. Three values do the load-bearing work - accessibility (affordable, nationwide), reliability (vetted providers, paperwork handled), and respect (dignity for clients, career advancement for caregivers). The result carries an A+ from the Better Business Bureau, which is the kind of credential that does not trend but does reassure the daughter booking care for her father.

TrueCare24's wedge: it runs the boring back office - payroll, taxes, replacements - as a feature, not an afterthought.

Marginalia

Things worth knowing.

The "24" lives inside a doctor's bag on the logo - round-the-clock care, packed and portable.

The tagline literally travels: "Health & Wellness Where You Are."

Its most valuable feature is the least visible one - payroll, taxes and scheduling nobody sees.

It pivoted from house calls to pandemic testing to behavioral health, and kept the same marketplace underneath.

Modern stack, old-fashioned promise: a person at your door, not a portal.

An A+ BBB rating is the credential that reassures the family, not the venture round.

The Scene, Revisited

Back on the porch.

Return to that Tuesday morning. The nurse is still on the porch, but look at what the doorbell now stands in for. Behind that single ring sits a 100,000-person provider network, a matching engine, an A+ rating, and a back office that already sorted the payroll and the taxes before anyone knocked. The 84-year-old inside does not see any of it. She sees a person who came to her, on time, for a price her family could carry.

That is the change TrueCare24 has quietly made to the American porch. Care used to be a place you went, on its schedule, at its price. Now, for 150,000 people a year across 50 states, it is a thing that arrives - at home, at work, or on a screen - and the century-old house call gets to be modern without pretending to be anything other than a knock at the door.

Our loved ones should be able to get high-quality care regardless of their income and status.
