Founded in 2012 by Ezra Goldman and Ayako Hiwasa, the company frames itself as 'the ownership alternative for low-mileage city drivers' and is positioning for an autonomous, connected, electrified future of car non-ownership.
Candice Xie
Candice Xie is the co-founder and CEO of Veo, the micromobility company she started in 2017 from West Lafayette, Indiana, while still in her twenties. A finance analyst by training rather than a Silicon Valley engineer, she built Veo into the first North American shared-micromobility operator to reach unadjusted EBIT profitability - reaching roughly $52 million in revenue on about $16 million of total funding, while competitors raised billions and flamed out. Calling herself an 'anti-tech bro' CEO and the 'tortoise' of the scooter race, she designs vehicles in-house, expands one city at a time, and won the largest exclusive micromobility contract in the United States with Denver.

Transit is a Montreal-based mobile app that turns the chaos of public transportation into a single, legible screen. It aggregates real-time schedules, GPS vehicle locations, and crowdsourced rider data across more than 1,100 cities in dozens of countries, layering in bikeshare, carshare, ridehail, microtransit, and mobile ticketing so people can navigate a city without owning a car. Founded by Sam Vermette and Guillaume Campagna, Transit partners directly with transit agencies who endorse and increasingly sponsor the app for their riders.
Veo
Veo is a Santa Monica-based shared micromobility company that designs, manufactures and operates electric scooters, e-bikes and cargo bikes for cities and university campuses across North America. Founded in 2017 by Purdue graduates Candice Xie and Edwin Tan, Veo built the industry's most diverse vehicle fleet through an in-house design team and became the first profitable shared micromobility operator in the U.S. Rather than chasing growth at any cost, Veo bet on deliberate expansion, exclusive city and campus contracts, and durable, purpose-built vehicles - a strategy that delivered unadjusted EBIT profitability in 2024 while many better-funded rivals retreated.
Sampriti Bhattacharyya
Sampriti Bhattacharyya is the founder and CEO of Navier, the company building America's first all-electric hydrofoiling boat. She grew up in Kolkata, India, arrived in the US at 20 with $200, and went on to earn a PhD in mechanical engineering from MIT. After her first venture — Hydroswarm, an underwater drone startup — she co-founded Navier in 2020 with MIT engineer Reo Baird. Their flagship product, the N30, is a 30-foot, eight-passenger electric foiling yacht that glides four feet above the water at 35 knots, runs 10 times more efficiently than gas-powered boats, and delivered its first customer unit in October 2024. Navier's investors include Google co-founder Sergey Brin and Android co-founder Rich Miner.
