Advanced Navigation
Advanced Navigation is a Sydney-based deep-technology company building navigation and autonomy systems that let robots, ships, aircraft, submarines and spacecraft know where they are when GPS is jammed, denied or simply unavailable. Founded in 2012 by Xavier Orr and Chris Shaw to commercialise AI-based inertial navigation research, it now designs and manufactures fibre optic gyroscopes, MEMS inertial sensors, underwater acoustic positioning and a miniature autonomous underwater vehicle across defense, space, marine, mining and commercial markets. In March 2026 it raised US$110M in Series C funding to accelerate its expansion into photonics, AI and quantum sensing.
James Kinsey
James Kinsey is the CEO of Humatics, a Waltham, Massachusetts company building microlocation technology that pinpoints the position of vehicles and machines to sub-millimeter precision. An engineer and scientist by training, he holds a PhD from Johns Hopkins and spent years on the scientific staff at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution developing GPS-denied navigation for deep-sea robots and manned submersibles. He joined Humatics as a founding officer in 2016, led its Milo software and systems work, delivered train-signalling projects for New York City's MTA, and founded the company's Mobility division before taking the top job.
ANELLO Photonics
ANELLO Photonics is a Santa Clara, California semiconductor and navigation company that builds SiPhOG, described as the world's smallest high-precision silicon photonic optical gyroscope. By shrinking fiber-optic-class gyroscope performance onto a chip, ANELLO delivers inertial measurement units (IMUs) and full inertial navigation systems (INS) that keep vehicles, drones, ships and robots positioned accurately when GPS/GNSS signals are jammed, spoofed or simply unavailable - across land, air and sea. Founded in 2018 by silicon-photonics pioneer Dr. Mario Paniccia and MEMS/inertial-sensor veteran Mike Horton, the company serves defense, maritime, aerospace, agriculture, construction, mining and autonomous-vehicle markets.
Neuralzome Cybernetics
Neuralzome Cybernetics is a Bengaluru-based deeptech startup building teachable, no-code AI agents that let ordinary off-road vehicles drive themselves through messy, GPS-denied places like orchards, farms and job sites. Its flagship autonomy stack, NeuralPilot, fuses vision, SLAM and GPS with a layered safety system and learns from human demonstration, while its RedPill simulator trains robots on photorealistic digital twins before they ever touch dirt. Founded in 2023 by Mohan Sivam and Aditya Shriwastava, the company sells autonomy as a service to labor-intensive industries and raised $2.4M in pre-seed funding in August 2025 to expand into North America and Europe.
Nathan Schuett
Nathan Schuett is the founder and CEO of PreNav, a Redwood City company that builds drones guided by computer vision to inspect the infrastructure most people never look at - cell towers, wind turbines, bridges, smokestacks. The idea started as a half-serious plan to fly coffee across a cafe and grew into a navigation system precise enough to fly a robot within centimeters of a steel structure without a GPS signal or an expert pilot. A Stanford computer-music graduate who detoured through video games and robotics, Schuett now also lists himself as founder of Forming AI, the next chapter of turning the physical world into analyzable 3D data.
