A finance graduate helped bring software to the fashion front row. Now Michael Jaïs is asking a harder question: what should a brand do with all that attention?

He grew up in a furniture family, took a detour through law, and helped build the digital businesses at Walmart and Macy’s. At Stitch Fix, Matt Baer is betting that the future of shopping will feel a little more like being remembered.

Before a pair of trousers becomes waste, it begins as a prediction. The unspun co-founder has spent years trying to change the order of events - and make the customer come first.

She began with a travel directory nobody needed. Then Liyia Wu noticed that the most useful part of a shop was not the shelf, but the person standing beside it.

The engineer-turned-marketer built Stantt around an elegant sizing algorithm. The harder invention was a business willing to follow customers from a screen to a fitting room - and back again.

Jen Rhi is the founder and CEO of NXN Labs, a San Francisco and Seoul based AI company building an operating system for fashion and commerce imagery. A Stanford computer science graduate and former McKinsey and SoftBank Ventures alum, she left the investor side of the table to attack a problem she kept seeing in brands: creative ideas were cheap, but the production bandwidth to shoot models, garments and campaigns at scale was the real bottleneck. NXN Labs answers that with proprietary multimodal diffusion models that generate photorealistic on-model imagery, video and virtual try-ons without a physical shoot. Two months after founding, the company was backed by Naver D2SF, KB Investment and Smilegate; by 2026 it had landed European luxury clients and a spot on the NRF Innovators' Showcase Top 50.
