Manish Mishra and the people behind the pipeline

Before he co-founded Manlitics, Manish Mishra led operations, quality and delivery teams. His path to the chief executive’s chair runs through the everyday work of helping other people get things done.

A car is an unusually bulky way to say thank you. At Manlitics’ third-anniversary celebration in 2022, employee rewards included cars, motorcycles and electronics. Manish Mishra, the company’s co-founder and chief executive, was talking about a different kind of addition: more people. The occasion put two parts of his business in the same room. There was the work of building a company, and there were the people expected to do it.

Mishra works in business-to-business marketing, a field whose vocabulary can make ordinary human activity sound like a plumbing diagram. Demand enters a funnel. Leads pass through stages. A pipeline develops. Somewhere beneath the apparatus, one person is trying to persuade another person to have a useful conversation. His career has taken him through the teams, checks and management roles behind that exchange.

The interesting part of his path is its gradual change in scale. Team leadership became delivery leadership, then managing-director roles, then a business of his own with fellow founders. The job titles grew longer. The underlying question remained practical: how do you get a group of people to deliver work that somebody else can use?

01 Before the chief executive, the team leader

By 2006, Mishra was a team leader in operations at Sutherland Global Services. In 2008, he moved into a team-manager role in quality assurance at Care Management International. These are useful places to begin a portrait of a marketing entrepreneur. They put the emphasis on the work after a promise has been made: organizing delivery, watching performance and checking what comes out.

Operations and quality assurance have a certain resistance to glamour. An elegant pitch can be delivered once. A process has to survive Tuesday, Wednesday and the arrival of someone new to the team. A quality check asks whether the work meets a standard even when everyone involved would prefer to move on. That is the professional territory Mishra occupied before leading larger organizations.

In 2007, he completed Six Sigma Green Belt training at Benchmark. The qualification sits neatly beside those early management roles. His professional skills include quality assurance and process improvement. Taken together, the roles and training give his later move into demand generation a practical context: he had spent years around the organization and assessment of other people’s work.

There is a temptation to turn every founder’s early job into a prophecy. Mishra’s sequence is more useful as a record of responsibilities. Operations came first in this stretch of his career. Quality assurance followed. Delivery and executive leadership came next. Each is a different vantage point on the same enterprise, with a wider group of people depending on the decisions.

02 Learning the business from the delivery end

Mishra joined Salesify as global delivery head in 2010 and became managing director in 2012. He later served as managing director at Ziff Davis B2B from 2015 to 2020. This was a substantial run in senior roles before Manlitics. He arrived at his current company with experience on the delivery side and at the executive level of the B2B business.

The distinction between those responsibilities matters. A delivery head has to make the service work. A managing director has to look across the organization providing it. Neither title, by itself, tells us how a person makes decisions. Together, however, they establish the breadth of the work Mishra had undertaken before becoming a chief executive and co-founder.

Manlitics was incorporated in India in November 2019, with Mishra taking the chief-executive role during the company’s 2019–2020 founding period. The business brought him together with Anand Dubey, Shilpika Mishra and Sneha Dubey. Dubey became co-founder and chief financial officer. This was a founding group, with several people sharing the task of establishing the company.

For Mishra, the move joined an existing field of experience to the responsibility of ownership. He had managed inside other organizations. At Manlitics, he would help set the direction of the organization itself. There is a difference between accepting responsibility for a department and putting your name beside a company from its beginning. His career contains both.

03 The conversation at the end of the spreadsheet

Manlitics helps businesses reach potential buyers through services including lead generation, demand generation, account-based marketing and content syndication. The company describes its approach as Human+Machine-As-A-Service, or H+MaaS. It combines people with technology in the work of identifying and engaging prospects. The abbreviation is formidable. The premise is quite approachable.

Consider the choices involved in reaching a business customer. Industry, company size, job title and job function can all affect whether a message reaches an appropriate person. Manlitics describes using those distinctions in its data work. A large list may contain plenty of names while still being a poor starting point for a particular conversation. Selection gives outreach a purpose.

The human element becomes easier to understand at that point. A record can identify a role. A person can listen to a reply, ask a follow-up question or discover that the timing is wrong. Technology helps organize the effort; the people doing the work still have to make sense of what happens. This is the kind of business in which an operations background has an obvious relevance.

Mishra’s experience in quality assurance adds another point of interest. A lead-generation service ultimately has to produce something useful to the team receiving it. The analogy to quality work is straightforward: define what is needed, examine the output and consider the next person who must act on it. It is an interpretation of the career sequence, rather than a claim that every earlier job was preparation for this one.

04 An office party with an unexpected guest list

There is a less technical glimpse of Mishra at the company’s Pune office on 8 May 2022. Manlitics invited employees’ mothers to a Mother’s Day celebration, and Mishra addressed the gathering. The event had a Money Heist theme. As combinations go, mothers, office colleagues and masks borrowed from a crime drama suggest an events committee willing to take a chance.

The detail is memorable because it interrupts the usual corporate picture. A workplace generally knows people through their roles. Inviting their mothers introduces another set of relationships into the room. For an afternoon, the office was also a place where families could see one another and the company where their children worked.

Mishra’s presence at that gathering belongs beside the management titles. A chief executive’s calendar can include delivery, strategy and a speech at a themed office party. This particular appearance gives the abstract word “leadership” a small, observable setting. He was there, speaking to employees and their mothers, in the Pune office.

05 A large ambition, expressed in people

Later that year, Mishra’s expansion plans put hiring at the centre of the company’s next chapter. In December 2022, he set out an ambition to double the workforce over the following couple of years. He connected the goal to team motivation. It was a statement about the conditions he believed growth would require, as well as its intended scale.

“Our target is to double our workforce”

That ambition belongs to its date. It gives a clear view of what he wanted at that stage of the business: a larger organization, built with employees who had reasons to remain engaged. The anniversary rewards made that thinking unusually visible. A thank-you large enough to require a parking space is difficult to mistake for an automated message.

The quieter description comes from a professional recommendation. Prasad Manjrekar describes Mishra as having “a great sense of humour” and credits his mentoring, training and coaching. Another recommender, Ashutosh Mahudkar, emphasizes his ability to motivate colleagues and his attention to daily activity alongside future plans. These are colleagues’ assessments, offering a different view from an executive title.

They also bring the story back to the scale at which it began: people working with other people. The company’s marketing proposition combines human effort and machines. Mishra’s professional path is populated by teams to lead, delivery to organize and colleagues to coach. The connection is visible without requiring a grand theory of his personality.

06 The next names on the team sheet

In September 2026, Manlitics advertised a Pune recruitment drive covering quality analysts, research analysts, management-information roles, demand-generation executives and recruiters. That range is a useful picture of the work behind the service. Research, checking, reporting, outreach and hiring all require attention. A customer may encounter one campaign; a company has to assemble the people behind it.

Mishra is based in Dubai, while Manlitics lists locations in New York, Pune and Dubai. His current role therefore sits across a business with several geographic points of contact. The professional journey from team leader to chief executive has widened the field of responsibility considerably. At the centre remains a familiar managerial task: help people do work that earns the next conversation.
