When Hotniyati Malau lost her job, the problem was painfully ordinary: her family still needed an income. In September 2023, she joined an entrepreneurship course in Sukabumi organised by the International Labour Organization and Evermos. She learnt to select products, promote them digitally and set income targets. Her new shop could fit around looking after her children. It also fitted inside her phone.
- Local brands supply the products. Resellers bring the customer relationships.
- Joining is free; buying a roomful of stock is unnecessary.
- Training and merchant tools support the work that follows the first sale.
Evermos makes an interesting bet about shopping: the person explaining a product can matter as much as the platform displaying it. For a small manufacturer, reaching a new town means finding buyers, arranging delivery and earning trust. For a would-be shopkeeper, it means risking money before knowing what will sell. Evermos puts these two problems together.
A phone where the shop used to be
Founded in November 2018 by Ghufron Mustaqim, Arip Tirta, Iqbal Muslimin and Ilham Taufiq, the Bandung company connects Indonesian brands to people who resell their goods. Its early catalogue focused on everyday halal and Muslim-friendly products. A January 2020 funding announcement described thousands of local products and more than 20,000 paid resellers across Indonesia’s provinces. The platform had launched only nine months earlier.

The useful unit here is the relationship. Someone introduces a product to a neighbour or shares it with an existing social circle. The company supplies the catalogue and the transaction infrastructure. Its current positioning particularly addresses Indonesian women seeking additional household income. The buyer receives a recommendation from somebody reachable; the brand gains a route into a community it might struggle to serve directly.
The stockroom stays somewhere else
The mechanics are reassuringly concrete. Register through the app or website, verify a phone number, select a selling category and choose products. Evermos’s official tutorials show sellers how to share those products. Its catalogue spans food, fashion, beauty and household needs. The app also tracks commissions and customer information. A new seller can begin with an existing phone and a manageable selection of goods.
The recommendation travels through people.
The parcel travels through a logistics provider.
The parcel need not pass through the seller’s living room. IFC’s operational review described products shipping from brands to resellers or end customers, with third-party carriers handling transport. It also recorded a rented warehouse holding selected fast-moving goods on consignment to reduce logistics costs. That is an important detail: removing inventory risk for the reseller still leaves someone responsible for getting the right item to the right door.
Free entry still has a price
Registration costs nothing under Evermos’s published FAQ. Earnings vary by product. One public catalogue listing for a Yasmeera garment shows a retail price of Rp349,000, a reseller price of Rp271,150 and a commission of Rp77,850. That difference is an opportunity to earn, rather than a wage. The seller still needs a completed sale, and delivery, promotion and other costs affect the economics of the order.
A 2023 IFC case study reported average reseller earnings of about $43 a month, with resellers typically spending three hours a day on related activities. Those historical figures give the proposition some scale. An extra household income can be useful without resembling the extravagant earnings advertised across the internet. Free entry lowers the financial hurdle; it does not make selling effortless.

The classroom is part of the machine
Training is central to the arrangement. Evermos’s business community offers discussions with administrators and experts, mentoring and selling guidance. The ILO’s Sukabumi programme covered WhatsApp Business, market targeting and practical income goals. These are small skills with consequences: choosing a customer, writing a message and following an order through delivery. Uploading a catalogue cannot teach them on its own.
There is also work upstream. UOB’s 2021 sustainability report describes an environmental and social review before investing and a supplier ESG checklist among the corrective measures. It recorded approximately 18,000 hours of online and offline training by year-end. The company’s expertise includes coordinating this human infrastructure alongside technology. Its employer profile names collaboration, trust, growth mindset and integrity as working values.
The catalogue was only the beginning
Investors funded the expansion: an $8.25 million Series A, approximately $30 million in Series B and a $39 million IFC-led Series C announced in May 2023. In that last announcement, Mustaqim said the team had realised that “brands face diverse challenges beyond distribution”. The brief had widened from introducing products to helping businesses manage more of their commercial lives.

Everpro, established in February 2022, serves online merchants with shipping, advertising and operational tools. CRM and web-building products followed at Indonesia Digital MeetUp 2023. This places Evermos across two connected markets: reseller distribution and services for businesses already selling online. Shopee or TikTok affiliate programmes are alternatives for earning from product recommendations; Everpro also works on the merchant’s less glamorous daily problems.
Expansion has included subtraction. Everpro permanently closed its Sourcing service on October 24, 2025. Evermos’s terms also set January 23, 2026 for closing the Koin Evermos feature. These were specific service changes. The reseller catalogue continues, and the Google Play listing records an app update in September 2026. A growing company still has to decide which pieces deserve to stay.
Borrow the sequence
For another business, the copyable idea is the sequence: identify a group with customer relationships, remove the stock purchase, teach the sale, then support repeat business. The conditions matter. Products must suit the community, deliveries must work and the margin must cover the effort. An app cannot manufacture demand inside a weak network.
In June 2026, Evermos reported that its ILO collaboration had reached more than 230 beneficiaries, including returning migrant workers and people with disabilities. The question remains practical: can a person turn access into reliable earnings? Hotniyati’s experience gives that question a face. The next order gives it an answer.
