The revealing detail in V Digital Services’ origin story is a customer list. In 2013, the newspaper advertisers already buying space through Voice Media Group had another problem: being found online. The company began offering them local search optimization. A familiar sales relationship acquired a different job.
- The opening: local SEO for existing newspaper advertisers.
- The business: marketing for businesses, plus fulfillment under other agencies’ brands.
- The useful lesson: expand from a customer’s next problem, then organize the work well enough to repeat it.
That beginning helps explain an agency whose service menu now stretches from Google advertising to website maintenance and first-party data. The connection is less exotic than the terminology. A business needs customers. Someone has to connect the places where people discover it, investigate it and finally decide to call.
A newspaper habit, repurposed
Voice Media Group emerged from a management buyout in 2012. VDS launched the following year. Scott Tobias, who helped create the agency and has led it since launch, had started his sales career at Denver’s Westword in 1993. He understood the local advertiser long before that advertiser needed an explanation of search rankings.
In a 2018 interview, Tobias described the response to that first service: customers trusted the company and asked it to do more. “They wanted a one-stop solution.” His account put the Local SEO business at roughly 2,000 accounts after five years. The expansion followed demand from people already buying.

The practical inference is appealing: a service company’s next offering may be hiding in its existing conversations. But relationships create the opening; delivery has to justify the expansion. VDS added specialist staff as it broadened its remit. Inc.’s records place it on the Inc. 5000 in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
The agency your agency can hire
Today, VDS sits between the neighborhood specialist and the broader marketing operation. A dentist can hire it directly. An agency can buy its work and present that work under its own name. The second arrangement, white labeling, gives VDS a distribution channel that does not require every end customer to recognize its brand.
The partner offering includes website audits, proposals bearing the partner’s branding, monthly reports, account management and sales training. Partners get a dashboard for overseeing campaigns. VDS handles fulfillment while the agency maintains the relationship. For a small firm, that can turn an additional specialty into a project expense instead of another permanent hire.

That arrangement requires clarity about responsibility. A partner still needs to explain results, understand the customer and spot a weak campaign. Outsourcing execution cannot remove those obligations. The model suits firms with client relationships and a gap in specialist capacity; it asks more care from anyone hoping the supplier will replace account leadership.
The twelve-year advantage
Consider AC for Less. The air-conditioning business wanted more traffic and leads. VDS separated its paid-media work into two campaigns: repairs and service on one side, installations and parts on the other. Different needs became different bidding and targeting decisions.
The repair campaign used a defined geographic radius, local keywords and adjustments favoring mobile traffic. The installation campaign inherited twelve years of Google advertising history, including a substantial negative-keyword list. Those exclusions helped keep irrelevant searches out of the campaign. An old account contained useful instructions about which attention to decline.
VDS reports 24% more traffic, revenue 49% above baseline and 22% more unique callers. The copyable part is the method: separate buying intentions, match geography to the service area, preserve useful exclusions and measure actual inquiries. The percentages belong to this case. Another company needs its own baseline, margins and definition of a worthwhile lead.
More channels, more tabs
Growth also created a problem inside VDS. A 2023 TapClicks case study describes reporting scattered across individual portals. Display, connected television, audio and email could not all be reviewed together. The agency needed a shared view and finer controls for checking campaign delivery.
It adopted Tap Analytics and Tap Dashboard Reporting. The vendor’s case-study headline reports a 23% saving on client account setup. Megan Esposito, then director of agency services, described faster access to campaign information. The important operational change was making the evidence easier for clients and staff to inspect together.

This is a useful question for any agency buyer: can the reporting connect the work across channels? A dashboard earns its place when it makes an underperforming campaign easier to diagnose and change.
The next place customers look
The newer offerings extend the discovery problem. Prospect Hub matches website visitors through an identity network and enriches customer profiles for remarketing. It received a 2024 Sammy Award in the data-product category. VDS also markets generative engine optimization: audits, content and technical work intended to improve visibility in AI-generated answers. Neither offering turns identification or visibility automatically into a sale.
The agency reported its fifth consecutive Google Premier Partner designation in March 2026. Its newspaper connections remain distinctive, while platform credentials help establish execution experience. Buyers can compare that combination with a specialist shop, another full-service agency or their own team.

Buy the process, too
Clutch lists a $1,000-plus minimum project and a $100-$149 hourly range; treat those as directory indications when planning a conversation. VDS’s FAQ gives example terms of twelve months for SEO with a six-month opt-out, and a three-month paid-media minimum. The signed agreement governs.
That makes fit a practical question. A buyer needing immediate inquiries should examine paid-media options separately from an SEO engagement. A business unable to answer calls or convert inquiries must fix that bottleneck, too. VDS’s origin offers a useful discipline: start with the customer’s actual problem. Keep following it after the campaign begins.
