The money can move in 90 seconds. That is the promise a UK borrower sees after approval. Somewhere behind that small interval are risk models, software platforms and customer journeys built with the help of Global Analytics India. The borrower may know Lending Stream or Drafty. The Indian company’s name is unlikely to appear in the conversation. Yet understanding that less visible business explains how the offer gets made.
- Indian analytics and engineering support for GAIN Credit’s UK products.
- Consumers underserved by mainstream lenders are the end customers.
- The group offers instalment loans, reusable credit and financial-support tools.
- Speed follows approval. Repayment determines whether the product fits.
Global Analytics India Private Limited is a subsidiary within US-based GAIN Credit. Its Indian offices are in Chennai and Noida. The UK lending brands identify GAIN Credit LLC as their operator. Those names describe different parts of the same system: the group, the Indian capability builder and the business providing credit to consumers.
The offer is only the beginning
Consider the ordinary problem the system addresses: an expense arrives before the money to meet it. A household with an imperfect credit history still has appliances to replace and bills to settle. The group’s proposition is that some people overlooked by mainstream lenders can repay a suitably designed loan. Finding them requires more discrimination than treating every damaged credit file alike.
GAIN says its underwriting examines multiple data points, including ability to repay, rather than relying solely on a credit score. The Indian subsidiary describes its contribution as analytics, technology and customer experience. These capabilities connect the decision to everything around it: an application that works, an understandable offer and a platform that continues serving the account.
“Building a Fairer Financial Future”
GAIN Credit’s stated ambition
A consultancy learns to lend
The group’s history begins in 2003 with analytical services for financial institutions. The Indian entity was incorporated that December. In 2008, the group issued its first UK loan under Lending Stream. It had moved from advising on decisions to financing their consequences. A mistaken prediction could now become money that did not come back.
Even accurate prediction needs affordable distribution. An early setback appears in the UK competition authority’s investigation: Global Analytics spent £240,000 on television advertising in 2011 for an estimated 1,000 new loans. In 2012, £600,000 produced what the company estimated was only a small uplift of around 250 booked loans. The experiment had limited success.
Approximate television spend per new loan: £240,000 divided by about 1,000 loans. Before funding, servicing or credit losses.
That is useful arithmetic for any founder. A better product does not automatically buy a cheaper customer. The record establishes a marketing disappointment; it does not establish that this trial caused later product changes. The group gives a different, explicit reason for investing further in Drafty in 2021: rising demand after COVID-19.
One household, several answers
Drafty launched in 2016. Its reusable credit line gives an approved customer a limit to draw from, repay and use again. Lending Stream offers short-term instalment loans. Drafty Loan, added in 2024, provides a lump sum with scheduled monthly repayments. These are different borrowing patterns, even when they begin with the same request for cash.
- 01Lending StreamBorrow once → repay in instalments
- 02DraftyChoose a loan or a reusable credit line
- 03AffordaExplore benefits, discounts and credit options
- 04TutuApply for credit with a guarantor
Afforda, also launched in 2024, opens another route. Its free service helps people explore benefits, discounts and credit options. A household seeking a loan may also be missing support it qualifies for. The group’s 2026 addition, Tutu, introduces guarantor loans, bringing another person’s commitment into the application. Product design now includes several ways to address access.
The price of the promise
For the borrower, the distinction between these products has a price. Lending Stream’s published representative example gives £578.36 total repayment for £300 borrowed over six months, with a representative APR of 1271%. The extra £278.36 is substantial beside the original loan. Splitting repayment into instalments changes the schedule; it does not erase the cost.
Drafty’s personal loan advertises a representative APR of 79.9%; its flexible line advertises 96.2% variable. Different terms and repayment structures make a simple percentage ranking incomplete. A reusable balance can remain outstanding. A fixed loan has an end date but still needs room in the budget. The relevant agreement’s total repayment and payment dates deserve attention.
The group’s lending model earns interest on borrowed balances. The Indian subsidiary supplies capabilities supporting that business. In July 2024, GAIN secured a Waterfall Asset Management facility of up to £100 million to support UK lending. That figure describes available financing, rather than a valuation or an equity investment in Global Analytics India.
People behind the platform
Group CEO Mark Fiander’s background includes a strategy role at MoneyHelper. Chief analytics and data officer Suresh Nallan has worked at Experian and FICO. Technology chief Richard Noad brings software experience from ADP. India operations sit within executive vice president Vineet Arora’s remit. The expertise spans risk, engineering and the practical work of serving customers.

The Indian company’s workplace record includes Great Place To Work recognition for women in 2022 and 2023. Its published culture emphasises ownership and collaboration. Beyond hiring, the group’s connections include LoanTube’s marketplace partnership in 2025 and participation in the FCA’s first AI Live Testing cohort. The latter supplies supervised testing, not a regulator’s endorsement.
What is worth borrowing
Builders can copy the habit of separating household needs before choosing a product. They can also copy the discipline of counting acquisition cost alongside losses and servicing. These are editorial lessons from the business, not claims that every product succeeds. For customers, the useful starting point may be Afforda’s support search rather than a loan application.
The limits are concrete. More data cannot create repayment capacity where a household has no surplus. A benefits check depends on eligibility; a guarantor loan depends on someone suitable accepting responsibility. Other lenders, credit unions or existing bank facilities may fit different circumstances. Global Analytics India helps build the machinery behind an offer. The offer still has to make sense after the money arrives.
