The Dispatch

Prospecting, minus the guesswork

A Concord, Massachusetts company betting that relationships were always the asset - and that they can be searched.

For decades, a financial advisor building a book of business worked from lists: a stack of names, a phone, and a hope that one in a hundred calls landed. Aidentified was founded in 2017 on a simple observation about that grind - the best prospect is rarely a stranger. It is usually someone an existing client already knows.

The company builds software that turns that instinct into data. Its platform combines profiles on more than 210 million consumers and 100 million U.S. professionals with a relationship graph covering 16 billion first-degree and roughly 800 billion second-degree connections. Layered on top is wealth data - household net worth, property, equity positions - and real-time monitoring of the life events that tend to loosen a wallet.

The result is a search box built for one job. An advisor can look for people in a given city, above a certain wealth band, who just sold a business or changed jobs, and then see which of their current clients could make a warm introduction. What was once a cold call becomes a referral that hasn't happened yet.

A wealth-management trade publication once called the approach "prospecting's holy grail." That is the industry's language, not the company's - but it captures why financial firms, from independent RIAs to large institutions, have adopted the tool.

The Problem It Solves

Three questions, one answer

Wealth-data tools already tell you who is rich. Contact databases tell you how to reach them. Neither tells you when to reach out or who can vouch for you. Aidentified's bet is that the value lives in joining all three - wealth, timing and relationships - into a single layer, rather than selling any one of them alone.

"Our platform's rich dataset enables anyone to spend their prospecting time more strategically."

How It's Different

Not a list. An intelligence layer.

The prospecting market is crowded. Wealth-X, WealthEngine and Relationship Science map affluence and connections; ZoomInfo and LinkedIn Sales Navigator supply broad B2B contact data; newer players like Catchlight and WealthFeed chase the same advisors. Aidentified's positioning is narrower and, it argues, deeper: it is built specifically for financial advisors, and it fuses wealth screening, real-time life-event triggers and relationship mapping in one workflow instead of shipping any single slice.

Most sales tools tell you who to call. Aidentified aims to tell you who to call, why now, and who can introduce you - the difference between a spreadsheet and a strategy.

"The combined service will dramatically accelerate prospecting and business development efforts for advisors."

Where it fits in

Aidentified sells B2B SaaS subscriptions, tiered from an individual Starter plan up to enterprise deployments, and complements them with API access and data-as-a-service licensing for institutions that want the raw pipelines. It also meets customers inside their CRMs, distributing through marketplaces like the Salesforce AppExchange.

That places it in WealthTech - the slice of fintech serving the advisory industry - where data, relationships and compliance intersect. Its estimated annual revenue is around $7.4 million, modest against the scale of its dataset, which is part of why FactSet's investment reads as much as a distribution bet as a financial one.

The Expertise Behind It

A data-industry pedigree

Co-founders and brothers Tom Aley and Darr Aley had already built and exited data-analytics companies before starting Aidentified. The leadership bench leans heavily on data veterans - including alumni of Dun & Bradstreet - across product, engineering, legal/privacy and revenue.

That background shows in the company's obsession with joining datasets rather than simply collecting them, and in a privacy function led at the C-level given the sensitivity of wealth data.
