The San Francisco company calls itself a decentralized search network for the AI internet. That compact phrase contains three different products. There is an AI-assisted search experience for people. There are search and data interfaces for developers who want discovery inside their own apps. Then there is the longer bet: a distributed network in which searching, indexing, validating and supplying resources can become economically rewarded work.
The name is a visual joke with unusually expensive punctuation. Adot lives at a.xyz, a five-character domain that feels less like an address than the beginning of an alphabet. The minimalism helps. The company's actual problem is sprawling.
Search the chain without thinking like a database
Adot AI Search is pitched as a conversational doorway into Web3. Instead of forcing a newcomer to know which explorer covers which chain, or which dashboard tracks a particular protocol, it attempts to retrieve relevant material and summarize it in ordinary language. Public product descriptions mention multilingual search, intelligent summaries, source material and personalized recommendations. A browser extension brings that explanatory layer into the browsing session.
For a crypto researcher, the appeal is compression. A single subject may have an official site, a white paper, a contract address, a governance proposal and a small storm of social commentary. Each object is legible on its own. Their relationship is the hard part. Adot's expertise is meant to sit in that relationship: crawling different formats, modeling machine data, understanding intent and ranking an answer that does not require the user to become an amateur data engineer.

A useful network needs careful definitions of quality, reputation and cost.
