COMPANY / B2B TECHNOLOGY MARKETING

TSL Marketing: A lead is only the beginning.

The B2B technology agency connects the work of getting noticed with the work of making a sale. Its most revealing case study may be its own sales team.

The first thing to fail was a customer. In the early 2000s, TSL Marketing’s largest client called on Thanksgiving Eve to cancel. David English suggested finishing the year under the contract’s notice period. The client’s doors were already locked. Everyone had been fired.

English and Mike Kelly had started the business in Carlow, Ireland, in 1999. Their first campaign meant calling Malaysia from three in the morning. After the dotcom crash, they shifted toward larger, established companies. The work would broaden, but the original name, Technology Sales Leads, still explains the preoccupation: find someone a salesperson can actually sell to.

THE QUICK READ
  • The customer: B2B technology firms, from managed IT providers to enterprise vendors.
  • The offer: search, websites, outbound prospecting, and HubSpot operations in one agency relationship.
  • The test: what happens between attracting a prospect and handing that prospect to sales?

The sales team votes with its clicks

Consider a smaller rebellion inside TSL. By late 2018, the agency had used Salesforce for roughly 13 years. Changing a CRM meant asking experienced salespeople to surrender familiar habits. Mike Stiriti, then director of channel sales and client strategy, was skeptical. Knowing where everything lived had its own value.

“After using Salesforce for almost 12 years, I was absolutely skeptical about changing platforms.”

Mike Stiriti · TSL’s account of its CRM migration

TSL moved to HubSpot Sales Hub Enterprise. In its account, published in 2020, the agency reported platform costs approximately 35% lower than before. Stiriti described becoming persuaded within weeks. Integrated prospect information, pipeline organization, and communication tools made the new system useful in daily work.

That is a revealing sales pitch for a marketing agency. A campaign can produce interest while the selling process makes acting on it cumbersome. The implication is practical: when people avoid the system, inspect the work it asks them to do before blaming their discipline.

Two ways to earn a conversation

For a managed service provider, the obstacle may appear much earlier. Texas-based Live Oak IT Partners had relied on outbound work and referrals. TSL’s case study describes a business that needed another route to buyers: an inbound presence that could bring prospects to its website.

The partnership began in March 2025 with search and website optimization. The work included four offer pages, two case studies, reviews, testimonials, and revised navigation. These are modest-sounding changes. Together, they give a visitor reasons to trust a provider and places to take the next step.

The engagement later added lead generation, a Google advertising pilot, and HubSpot support. TSL’s published case attributes more than $75,000 in new monthly recurring revenue wins to the work in year one. That is an agency-reported client result, with several activities contributing. It cannot establish what any one tactic would produce elsewhere.

ASi Networks illustrates the outbound side. For a Cisco security and AI optimization campaign within a TD SYNNEX partner program, TSL targeted IT managers, technology executives, and company leaders. Its specialists used BANTE: budget, authority, need, timing, and environment.

Over eight months, the campaign produced 25 facilitated opportunities. Twenty-four received the highest internal quality rating, indicating that ASi’s sales team could take actionable next steps. The distinction matters: a facilitated opportunity is a sales conversation with groundwork completed. It is not booked revenue.

The machinery behind the meeting

TSL also works where the prospect never looks: the database, the workflow, and the reporting structure. Its HubSpot services cover implementation, integrations, automation, migration, and administration. The agency announced CRM Data Migration Accreditation in November 2025 and Diamond partner status in March 2026.

One enterprise case gives that work some texture. An unnamed technology company had 90 days before losing access to Marketo. TSL helped establish HubSpot, define properties and access, create templates, and support the data strategy. The client handled much of the data cleansing. TSL built 25 custom dashboards and more than 100 reports, then trained a 40-person marketing team using a manual and practical exercises.

Those details explain why buying software and making software work are different purchases. They also locate TSL in the market: a technology-focused agency that can handle creative campaigns alongside the operational chores those campaigns depend on.

Put a price on the foundation

The business model is agency work sold through retainers and scoped services. Published growth retainers list Growth Foundation at $5,000 a month, Growth Accelerator at $7,500, and a custom-priced Market Leader tier. Foundation combines strategy, search, content, website optimization, and monthly reporting.

Separate SEO packages make commitment visible. SEO Advice lists $1,500 monthly with a three-month minimum. SEO Foundations lists $3,000 with a six-month minimum. The $5,000 SEO and paid-search package specifies a six-month commitment and excludes advertising spend. A monthly fee therefore needs two companion questions: for how long, and what else must be funded?

Follow one lead all the way through

TSL’s integrated approach has a clear appeal for a small marketing department: access to multiple specialties without hiring a person for each. Compared with assembling separate website, search, and sales-development suppliers, the proposition is simpler coordination. That is a purchasing advantage, not proof of better results.

The copyable lesson requires no retainer. Pick one prospect. Trace the search, page, form, qualification, meeting, and follow-up. Find where context disappears. Assign someone to fix that point.

This approach needs a defined buyer, a credible offer, usable customer data, and salespeople available to act. More inquiries will accomplish little if the team cannot respond or deliver. TSL’s story keeps returning to the same small event: someone becomes interested, and another person knows what to do next.
