Stellaromics Inc.
Stellaromics is a Boston-based spatial biology company building tools that map gene expression in three dimensions inside intact tissue. Spun out of the labs of Karl Deisseroth (Stanford) and Xiao Wang (MIT/Broad Institute), the company commercializes its Pyxa platform, which uses proprietary STARmap and RIBOmap chemistry to deliver multiplexed 3D spatial transcriptomics and translatomics in tissue sections up to 100 microns thick at subcellular resolution. It targets researchers in neuroscience, oncology and immunology who need to preserve native tissue architecture rather than rely on flat 2D thin-section methods.
Todd Dickinson
Todd Dickinson is the CEO and a board member of Stellaromics, a Boston biotech commercializing 3D spatial biology born from Karl Deisseroth's Stanford lab and Xiao Wang's work at MIT and the Broad Institute. A Tufts-trained analytical chemist who did his PhD under David Walt, he spent more than 20 years turning genomics inventions into products: over a decade at Illumina during its rise as the DNA-sequencing leader, commercial work on Bionano Genomics' Irys nanochannel arrays, and CEO stints at Dovetail Genomics and Arc Bio, which he merged into Cantata Bio in 2022. At Stellaromics he raised $80 million in Series B (led by Catalyst4 with Stanford University Ventures) to launch Pyxa, the first commercial platform that reads gene expression inside intact tissue up to 40x thicker than conventional methods.
Noetik
Noetik is an AI-native biotechnology company building foundation models of human cancer biology to discover precision immunotherapies. It pairs one of the world's largest proprietary spatial-omics datasets - hundreds of millions of spatially resolved tumor and immune cells - with a high-throughput in vivo CRISPR Perturb-Map platform to train multimodal virtual cell models like OCTO-VC. These models simulate gene expression, cell states, and tumor-immune interactions, letting researchers find drug targets and predict patient response computationally. Founded in 2022 by former Recursion leaders Ron Alfa and Jacob Rinaldi, Noetik has raised roughly $62M and licenses its models to pharma, including an anchor partnership with GSK.
Paul Sargeant
Paul Sargeant is the President and CEO of Circular Genomics, a San Diego biotech building blood tests around circular RNA - the loop-shaped, unusually stable molecules most of the field once ignored. A Cambridge-trained physiologist with 25 years across Fortune 100 firms and venture-backed startups in the US, Europe and Asia, he took the helm in 2023, shepherded the launch of the MindLight test predicting which depression patients will respond to SSRIs, moved headquarters into Lilly Gateway Labs, and closed a $15M Series A in December 2025 to push the same platform toward early Alzheimer's detection.
Shafique Virani
Shafique Virani is a neurosurgeon-turned-biotech dealmaker who serves as Chief Business Officer of Noetik, an AI-native cancer therapeutics company in South San Francisco. He has spent two decades turning early-stage science into landmark partnerships, including one of the largest drug discovery deals ever struck at Recursion, and earlier built a neuroscience and rare-disease portfolio at Roche/Genentech that produced approved medicines like Risdiplam and Enspryng. At Noetik he is selling a new idea to pharma: not AI services, but licensable AI infrastructure for biology.
Kim Kelderman
Kim Kelderman is the President and CEO of Bio-Techne Corporation, a global life science tools and diagnostics company headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota. With over 30 years of healthcare and life sciences experience, Kelderman rose through the ranks at Bio-Techne after joining in 2018 to lead the Diagnostics and Genomics segment, where he doubled the spatial biology business and commercialized the ExoDx Prostate test. A native of the Netherlands educated at Hogeschool Heerlen and Columbia Business School, he previously held executive roles at Thermo Fisher Scientific and Becton Dickinson. He became CEO on February 1, 2024, succeeding Chuck Kummeth.
