ShipERP cuts the work between order and label

A freight quote used to send Belimo employees between departments. ShipERP brings shipping into the business system, revealing how much time can disappear in the handoffs before a parcel leaves the warehouse.

At Belimo Americas, a customer asking about freight could set several people to work. A service representative contacted another department, waited for a quote, then returned with an answer. If the customer wanted a different shipping method, the relay began again. In a ShipERP customer video, service manager Marialisa Aversano describes this routine across a team of 45. The parcel had barely entered the conversation. Information was already taking the scenic route.

The quick read / 30 seconds
  • ShipERP puts rates, labels and tracking inside enterprise workflows.
  • Its SAP roots now sit alongside a platform-agnostic cloud offering.
  • The practical prize: fewer handoffs between sales, shipping and finance.

ShipERP's proposition becomes clear at that particular bottleneck. The company connects business systems with shipping carriers so that a shipment's commercial details and physical journey can be managed together. At Belimo, freight information became available in SAP as orders were processed. Management could also compare what the customer paid for freight with what transporting the shipment actually cost.

01 The label is the last step

A shipping label looks wonderfully simple: an address, a barcode, perhaps a promise about Tuesday. Producing it requires decisions. Which carrier? Which service? Whose account pays? Does the address work? What documentation must accompany the goods? Each answer depends on information that may live somewhere else in the business.

ShipERP Core brings carrier rate comparisons, shipment creation, tracking, proof of delivery and export documents into SAP. The company says its carrier network exceeds 250. Its SAP software is written in ABAP, SAP's programming language. That matters to an enterprise IT team because shipping can operate within an environment it already maintains, rather than becoming another collection of carrier applications to reconcile.

The interfaces reach into particular jobs. ShipSOI brings freight information into sales orders. ShipEWM handles carrier processing within SAP Extended Warehouse Management. ShipTM connects parcel shipping with SAP Transportation Management. These names are almost aggressively literal. For buyers working through a warehouse integration checklist, that can be useful.

02 Find the minutes hiding in the process

Belimo makes actuators, valves and sensors for buildings. Its shipping story concerns the time between a question and an answer, as much as the journey to the customer. In a separate testimonial published by ShipERP, SAP solutions architect Kumar Prashant describes order completion shrinking from ten minutes to ten seconds.

“It went from 10 minutes down to 10 seconds.”

Scentsy offers another example. The fragrance products business had fragmented shipments and difficulty showing stakeholders what was happening. ShipERP's case study reports a 20% reduction in shipment processing time after integration. The useful lesson is where to look: duplicated entry, departmental requests and missing status information can consume capacity before a carrier ever collects a box.

03 Shipping has an address problem, too

MCR Safety, a protective equipment manufacturer, describes a different frustration. Maintaining its earlier shipping software depended on outside consultants. The company wanted greater control, integration and room to grow. ShipERP's account says the change allowed information to travel across business functions and gave MCR more influence over the product roadmap.

One reported result is refreshingly specific: $30,000 saved with ShipAVM, ShipERP's address validation product. The public case-study introduction gives that amount without a measurement period. Treat it as a customer result with that boundary. The underlying point travels well: correcting shipment data early can be a financial decision, rather than a clerical nicety.

Compliance expands the job further. ShipHAZ supports hazardous-material shipping; ShipDPS screens denied-party lists; ShipAES handles automated export filing; ShipATLAS addresses German export declarations. ShipERP announced an integration with Labelmaster's dangerous-goods software in 2021. A business shipping regulated products needs the right checks and documents as well as a competitive freight quote.

04 SAP roots, a wider doorway

Founded in 2007, the business originally operated as ERP Integrated Solutions. In February 2020 it adopted ShipERP, the name of its flagship product. The change made its specialty easier to understand. Joseph Cabrera, its co-founder, has represented the company publicly as managing partner.

Its market has since widened beyond the native SAP offering. ShipERP Cloud is a browser-accessible SaaS product designed to connect with different enterprise platforms. The company lists Oracle, Microsoft and Sage environments alongside SAP. It also provides implementation, upgrade and system-assessment services, so the commercial relationship extends beyond supplying software.

For an enterprise buyer, architecture is a real choice: native SAP functionality or a cloud service connected through interfaces. Existing systems, upgrade plans and the shipping workflow determine the fit. ProShip also offers enterprise multi-carrier shipping with SAP integration. ShipERP's case therefore rests on the detail of its modules, carrier connections and implementation expertise, rather than the mere existence of rate shopping.

05 Follow the bill after the box

In November 2023, ShipERP partnered with Reveel to introduce Spotlight, a parcel spend management product. It applies analytics and machine learning to shipping expenses, contract terms and invoice checks. Rate modeling and comparisons with similar shipping profiles help customers examine whether their agreements match how they actually ship.

The John Deere relationship supplies a concrete example of deeper implementation work. ShipERP announced a 2025 Supplier Innovation Award for carrier and route determination supporting Deere's Parts IT Modernization initiative. The announcement credits requirements work and SAP technical support from Deere's team. Even a well-connected product needs people who understand the operation it is joining.

For a buyer building a business case, the costs need the same attention as the savings. Software, implementation, optional modules, support and training belong in the calculation. Measure the time saved against the cost of changing the process, including the work required from internal IT staff.

06 Start with one awkward handoff

The buying exercise should begin with a shipment, followed from sales order through invoice. Count repeated entries. Record waits. Check whether costs and tracking return to the original transaction. Ask a vendor to demonstrate those exact steps using the carriers, exceptions and documents the business needs.

A useful demonstration should include an exception: an invalid address, a changed service or an international order. Routine labels show that a system runs. Exceptions reveal how much work returns to the operator.

That approach also sets a sensible limit. A simple operation using one carrier may have little duplicated work to remove; a complex installation still needs accurate data, tested interfaces and trained users. ShipERP University offers customer courses in configuration and troubleshooting. The software's usefulness depends on whether people can run the resulting process. The interesting unit of progress is the handoff that no longer needs to happen.
