What it does

One platform for hiring, paying, and banking remote teams

RemotePass is a global employment and payroll platform. It lets a company hire someone in a country where it has no legal entity, pay that person in a working currency, and stay compliant with local labor law - all from a single dashboard. The product spans three groups of workers: independent contractors, employees hired through RemotePass's Employer of Record service, and a company's own direct hires paid through local payroll.

Where RemotePass differs from a plain payroll tool is the fintech layer underneath. Beyond moving money from employer to worker, it can give the worker a USD account, a global card, and health insurance - services that are often out of reach for people in emerging markets. As co-founder and CEO Kamal Reggad frames it, hiring is the entry point; the larger job is the financial infrastructure that distributed work depends on.

The company was founded in the UAE in 2021 by Kamal Reggad and Karim Nadi, and now runs a dual headquarters in Boston and Abu Dhabi - a structure that mirrors its customer base of global enterprises and regional champions alike.

The problem it solves

Cross-border pay is where hiring breaks

Hiring a person anywhere is easy. Paying them across a border - legally, on time, into an account that actually works - is where most companies stall. Setting up a local entity is slow and expensive. Compliance rules differ in every jurisdiction. And in many markets the worker's own banking options are limited.

RemotePass targets exactly those gaps: local entity setup, country-by-country compliance, and banking infrastructure. Instead of stitching together lawyers, local payroll providers, and banks, a company runs the whole workforce through one system - and the individual worker gets modern financial tools regardless of where they live.

How it's different

EOR incumbents move money. RemotePass banks the worker.

The global employment category already has scaled players - Deel, Remote, Papaya Global, Oyster, Rippling, and Multiplier among them. RemotePass competes on two edges. First, the embedded fintech layer: most rivals stop at paying the employer's team, while RemotePass extends accounts, cards, and insurance to the individual. Second, depth in MENA and emerging markets, where it was built and where compliance and banking are hardest.

That positioning shows in the customer list, which mixes global enterprises with regional champions: Logitech, Tata Group, inDrive, Careem, and Tabby. And unlike much of the category, RemotePass reached profitability in early 2025 before raising its Series B - a sequencing that says as much about its discipline as its ambition.

Funding & business model

B2B SaaS, with fintech upside

RemotePass charges companies per-worker fees for EOR, contractor management, and payroll, then layers financial products - accounts, cards, insurance - that add revenue while serving the worker directly.
