A podcast company that would rather leave the app

When Podeo's founders looked at the Arabic-speaking world roughly a decade into the global podcast boom, they counted fewer than a thousand shows. Most people would read that as a market that never arrived. Stefano Fallaha read it as a market that had never been served.

Podeo is an end-to-end podcast platform. A creator uses one web app to start, record, host, produce, distribute and monetize a show - the full chain, without needing a studio, a producer or a media company behind them. That much is familiar; plenty of hosting tools promise it. What separates Podeo is what happens after the episode is finished.

Rather than fight for placement inside the same handful of streaming apps, Podeo pushes audio into channels most independent podcasters can't reach on their own: traditional radio stations, in-flight entertainment on airlines, ride-hailing and taxis, gaming apps and chat platforms. "In one click," Fallaha says, "their podcast is out across all these channels." Discoverability - podcasting's hardest, most stubborn problem - gets solved by going where the listeners already are instead of waiting for them to search.

The company began in Beirut, where Fallaha first sketched an audio-based social network called Fallound while still in high school. After the 2020 port explosion, the team relocated toward Dubai and rebuilt around podcasting. Today it calls itself the largest and fastest-growing podcast platform in the Middle East and North Africa, with more than 100,000 creators and an audience near 50 million.

Our mission was to amplify our creators' voices - to help them ensure their voices were heard. Stefano Fallaha, CEO & Founder
AT A GLANCE

What Podeo is

An all-in-one platform where creators record, host, produce, distribute and earn from podcasts - with distribution that reaches beyond streaming apps into radio, airlines, taxis, gaming and chat.

"When they get more listeners and earn more advertising revenues, so do we."

- Stefano Fallaha on Podeo's aligned business model
Who it serves

Creators without a media team

Podeo's customers are independent podcasters, publishers and media brands - concentrated first in the Arabic-speaking world and broader MENA, and now expanding outward. Many are solo operators. They have something to say and a microphone; what they lack is the production polish, the distribution reach and the monetization plumbing that a professional network would normally provide.

The problems Podeo sets out to solve are the three that quietly kill most shows. First, production friction: editing and sound design are tedious, and Podeo will hand back a finished, distribution-ready episode within about 24 hours of upload. Second, discoverability: instead of competing for a slot in an over-crowded app, creators get exposure across radio, planes, cars, games and chat. Third, money: creators don't pay to publish, and Podeo shares advertising revenue as their audiences grow.

The company reports that creators who migrate to the platform see an average 166% lift in monthly audience - a figure it attributes largely to that off-app distribution reach.

The differentiator

One upload, many channels

Where most platforms end at Spotify and Apple, Podeo's exclusive integrations carry a single podcast into places independent creators rarely reach. This distribution network - not the recording tools - is the moat.

Podeo app

A mobile app for listeners to discover, stream and download podcasts with personalized recommendations and social features.

Business model

Free to publish, paid by ads

Podeo is free for both listeners and creators. Its primary revenue comes from programmatic advertising served across creators' episodes and the wider distribution network, with a share passed back to the creator. Optional production services - editing, sound engineering, post-production - are paid add-ons, and the company has signaled plans to layer in memberships, tipping and tokenization.

The design is deliberate: because Podeo earns when creators earn, its incentives track its users' growth rather than a subscription paywall. It's the same logic that made ad-supported video work - applied to an audio market that global platforms largely skipped.

Where it fits: Podeo sits alongside global hosting and monetization players like Acast, Spotify for Podcasters, PodOmatic and regional apps such as Anghami - but competes on hyper-local depth and off-app distribution rather than scale of catalog.
