An invoice arrives in an inbox. It sounds like the beginning of a very dull story. At a wholesale pallet supplier, however, that document had to travel through email, customer records, accounting software, and vendor communications. People supplied the connections. They read, matched, entered, and checked. The software was there. The cooperation between the software was the problem.
- Oktana builds Salesforce applications, integrations, data systems, and AI workflows.
- Its model combines project delivery with managed services and embedded engineers.
- Argano acquired the company in October 2026, adding a predominantly Latin American delivery team.
Oktana’s account of the supplier project describes three months spent connecting Salesforce, Outlook, QuickBooks Online, Conga Composer, and intelligent document processing through MuleSoft. Invoices could enter through email, have their contents extracted, match against orders, and update financial records. Vendor forms and follow-ups joined the same workflow. A mundane document became a useful test of whether the business’s technology could actually work together.
The interesting part is the exception
The telling detail is what happened when the system was unsure. Oktana built fallback routing for low-confidence document reads and tiered logic for matching orders. Uncertain information had somewhere to go. That matters because an incorrectly matched invoice can make an automated process look fast while quietly creating work for somebody downstream.
There is a practical lesson here for anyone commissioning automation: map one transaction from arrival to completion, including its awkward exceptions. Decide who handles a document that cannot be matched. Agree on what a successful update means in each system. Then automate. The sequence is an inference from this project, and a useful one: reliable handoffs deserve as much attention as the intelligence doing the reading.
A business built after go-live
Founded in Montevideo in 2014, Oktana became a Salesforce specialist with a wider engineering toolkit. Today its services encompass custom applications, platform optimization, data infrastructure, integration, design, and testing. Clients can commission a project, arrange continuing managed services, or add engineers to their own teams. The company advertises time-and-materials flexibility, making the engagement a purchase of delivery capacity and expertise.
Its positioning has a particular emphasis. In a 2024 explanation of its Salesforce Summit status, Oktana stressed optimization and staff augmentation, including improvements to software customers already owned. It reported relationships averaging more than four years and more than 100 community portals built over a decade. The sale continues after the first release because the customer’s business continues changing.
That puts Oktana between several alternatives: another Salesforce consultancy, a broader systems integrator, a nearshore engineering firm, or an internal team. Its case rests on the combination of platform knowledge, custom engineering, and continuing delivery. A buyer with substantial Salesforce complexity has more reason to consider that combination than a small organization seeking a simple, standard installation.

When Salesforce is the customer
One revealing customer is Salesforce itself. Oktana’s published partner-program case describes consolidating fragmented program information into dashboards, automating administrative work, connecting Snowflake, and introducing AI search and self-service. The ingredients included Data Cloud, Agentforce, Tableau, and Salesforce’s own business applications. Even a software platform’s maker has complicated operations behind the interface.
Oktana reports approximately 10,000 monthly sessions for the project’s AI self-service capabilities and more than 5,000 users enabled to find information through AI experiences. Those are company-reported outcomes. Their significance is concrete: the work addresses a recurring operational problem, helping people find partner information without navigating disconnected resources or waiting for assistance.
A separate billing-portal case offers a less glamorous, equally recognizable example. Customers needed invoices, payment updates, and account administration. Oktana expanded self-service so they could perform these tasks directly. The case reports more than 56,400 logins, over 7,254 customer hours saved, and 14.4% case deflection. The useful question for another buyer is whether their own support queue contains similarly repeatable requests.

For the buyer, these examples suggest a better brief than “we need AI.” Count the repeated tasks, identify the records involved, and decide which outcomes users can complete themselves. A portal that lets someone change a payment method can be more valuable than another place to ask where that payment method lives.
Shared hours, different places
The delivery model gives the engineering story a geographical twist. Oktana works across Latin America and the United States, emphasizing bilingual teams and overlapping American working hours. For a client changing requirements or investigating a problem, shared hours make live conversations easier. That is an operating advantage to evaluate alongside technical skills and price.
The company also says its 2020 U.S. delivery expansion invested in Appalachia, eventually bringing more than 50 West Virginia developers into the Salesforce ecosystem. Its stated mission connects economic opportunity in growing communities with the work it delivers. Continuous training, certification, and community activity sit alongside commercial delivery in that account of the business.

Security also belongs in the delivery conversation. Oktana’s compliance page describes a SOC 2 Type II report, external security assessments, and business continuity planning across locations. Buyers can request the relevant reports and examine their scope. Shared time zones make collaboration convenient; access controls and operational discipline help make that collaboration suitable for sensitive enterprise work.
The acquisition follows the work
On October 13, 2026, Argano announced that it had acquired Oktana. The announcement counted 227 professionals holding more than 1,100 Salesforce certifications. More revealingly, it said data and AI represented approximately 75% of Oktana’s revenue in the first quarter of 2026. That is a revenue mix for one quarter, rather than a measure of total sales or a forecast.
“Joining Argano gives our team an opportunity to bring the expertise we’ve built over more than a decade to an even broader client base.”Jaime Solari / acquisition announcement
For a prospective customer, the decision still starts smaller than an acquisition: identify a workflow, establish its baseline, and choose a team capable of maintaining the result. Complex integrations require accessible systems, usable data, agreed permissions, and people responsible for exceptions. Without those conditions, adding an agent can simply accelerate confusion. Oktana’s invoice project supplies the more interesting image: a document moving through the business, with each handoff accounted for.
