Multimedia Solutions makes the complicated clickable

A hospital network, a bank, a law firm: each has a different reason to lose a visitor. This New Jersey digital consultancy works on the small decisions that help people find their way.

A hospital website has an unusually unforgiving visitor. Someone needs a doctor, a location, a service. The organization may think in departments and facilities; the visitor thinks in questions. When NYC Health + Hospitals hired Multimedia Solutions to redesign a suite of 22 websites, the assignment contained a small institutional puzzle: how do you make a large network behave like something a person can understand?

The useful bits
  • Build around the visitor’s task: find care, choose an account, locate an attorney.
  • Connect the publishing and marketing machinery behind the screen.
  • Treat a launch as the beginning of an operating commitment.

The consultancy gave those hospital websites a common visual language and a shared content management system, with room for individual hospitals to reflect their communities. It also built in multilingual translation capability and search for locations, specialties and doctors. The interesting decision was the combination: shared infrastructure, local expression. A patient should not need to understand the organization chart to find care.

The agency behind the useful click

Multimedia Solutions, based in Edgewater, New Jersey, has been doing digital work since 1992. Its services stretch from information architecture and website design to custom applications, marketing and systems integration. Company announcements identify founder Yu-ying Zaleon and co-founder and CEO Steven M. Zaleon. Yu-ying received New Jersey’s Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in the Internet category in 2000, according to the company’s historical account.

That history helps explain the breadth. The firm describes itself as technology agnostic, and its portfolio moves between hospitals, banks, law firms, real estate and corporate commerce. Those organizations share a problem: information that makes perfect sense internally can be awkward for outsiders. Solving it may require a designer, a content specialist and an application architect working on the same brief.

Consider Tiffany’s Business Gifts platform. In Multimedia Solutions’ case study, the consultancy designed and engineered an e-commerce system for corporate recognition programs. Administrators could manage special collections, track eligible recipients and coordinate event dates. A gift is the visible object. Eligibility rules, procurement and administration are the machinery that makes the transaction possible.

Follow the customer past the homepage

At Manasquan Bank, the same instinct produced a different arrangement. In September 2022, Multimedia Solutions announced a digital experience platform connecting the website, hosting, search optimization, email, campaigns and analytics. Its Compass Profile matched visitors with financial solutions according to their needs and life stage, in under two minutes, according to the launch announcement.

The profile also informed personalized content and later promotions. A lead-tracking module followed the journey from an initial touchpoint to account opening. Here, the website became part of a longer sequence. A campaign could start a conversation; the site could adapt it; analytics could follow its progress. For a marketing team, the attraction is seeing those activities together.

The distinction matters when choosing a supplier. A focused design studio, an internal development team and a broad digital consultancy answer different briefs. Multimedia Solutions occupies the space where customer experience touches content systems, application logic and continuing marketing. Its Umbraco Gold partnership, confirmed by the platform’s directory since 2023, gives that broad positioning a specific implementation credential.

A chatbot needs an editor

The company’s newer work applies this approach to AI. For Lowenstein Sandler’s website chatbot, launched in June 2024, the team tested user inputs and assessed responses. Before release, it adjusted the knowledge base, personality and tone. The assistant was intended to help visitors find information and connect with attorneys; the firm explicitly described it as outside the role of professional legal advice.

The practical lesson is editorial as much as technical. A plausible answer has to serve the visitor’s actual question. Testing prompts and refining the material behind the answer belong in the implementation brief. The project’s documented adjustments show iteration before launch, without requiring a story about a dramatic failure.

“To create solutions that transform the way people communicate.”Multimedia Solutions’ stated purpose

First Bank’s September 2024 redesign included Penny, a website assistant, alongside a new domain and a streamlined account-opening platform. Walden Savings Bank followed with Wally in January 2026, designed to answer common questions and guide visitors to relevant pages. These are concrete assignments for AI: help someone locate banking information and take the next useful step.

The launch has a second invoice

The economics become unusually visible in Jersey City’s public records. In 2017, the city awarded Multimedia Solutions a $65,000, six-month contract to develop and maintain HealthierJC after receiving eight vendor proposals. A March 2020 resolution approved a further year of maintenance, capped at $31,188. Those figures describe one historical engagement, rather than a general price list.

One public engagement · historical contract values
$65,0002017 initial development and maintenance contract · six months
$31,1882020 maintenance renewal · annual ceiling

They reveal something useful about the business model. The first purchase creates a digital property; later work keeps it operating. Multimedia Solutions describes itself as self-financed and debt free. Its business combines project delivery with continuing services such as maintenance, hosting and marketing. For buyers, that makes the operating brief worth discussing alongside the launch brief.

The next brief comes from an existing client

In August 2025, Larken Associates selected the consultancy for a third website redesign. The announced plans included AI-powered search, interactive floorplans and integrations pulling real-time property availability. By May 2026, another launch, for Hughes Hubbard, combined an enterprise CMS with lawyer search and filtering. Different organizations; another version of the information-finding problem.

The useful idea to copy is modest: start with a task, identify the information it requires, then connect the people and systems responsible for supplying it. A small static site may need far less coordination. A bank or hospital network has more moving parts. Multimedia Solutions’ work makes the case for treating those parts as a single assignment, with someone responsible for how they meet on the screen.
