The Chennai consultancy that spent 17 years bootstrapping an SAP business - then raised on its own terms and set course for an IPO.
KaarTech - the trading name of Kaar Technologies India Private Limited - is a global consultancy built around one of enterprise software's least glamorous, most durable problems: how large organizations run their core operations on SAP. Founded in Chennai in 2005 by four college friends who walked away from corporate jobs abroad, the firm designs, deploys and then quietly keeps running the ERP systems that manufacturers, utilities, retailers and governments depend on.
The work sits in three layers. First, transformation projects - moving an enterprise onto SAP S/4HANA or the cloud-delivered RISE with SAP, from the initial readiness assessment through migration, testing and rollout. Second, application managed services: the multi-year contracts to support and optimize those systems once they are live. Third, and unusually for a consultancy, its own software - accelerators named KTern.AI and KEBS that automate parts of the delivery, including SAP code remediation and project optimization.
That last piece is the tell. Most services firms bill by the hour and have little reason to make the hours disappear. KaarTech built tools that shrink the manual grind of an SAP migration - the sort of work that used to pad invoices - and turned it into a selling point. Clients notice when a vendor tries to make the project faster rather than longer.
The scale is real without being enormous. The company reports more than 3,000 projects delivered for 350-plus customers across roughly 15 countries, with a workforce that has grown to around 3,000 people and a bench of over 2,000 SAP-certified consultants. Marquee accounts include oil giant Saudi Aramco, and in the Gulf the firm now runs end-to-end IT managed services for the Dammam Airports network.
“A dependable and trustworthy digital transformation global partner.”
KaarTech's clients are the kind of organizations for whom an ERP outage is a front-page event: large manufacturers, energy and utilities companies, retailers and consumer brands, financial-services firms, and increasingly public-sector bodies. They are concentrated across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific, with the Gulf now among the fastest-growing segments.
The problem these customers bring is rarely "install software." It is closer to: our business runs on an aging SAP core, SAP is ending support for the old ECC platform, and we need to move to S/4HANA or the cloud without breaking the operations that generate our revenue. That migration is expensive, risky and slow - and it is exactly the pain KaarTech organizes itself around.
The firm frames engagements through a "Vision to Value" approach - starting from the business result a client wants and working backward to the SAP roadmap, rather than delivering technology for its own sake.

SAP consulting is dominated by very large integrators - Accenture, Deloitte, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, IBM - plus SAP-focused specialists. KaarTech does not try to out-scale them. Its wedge is depth: 75-plus S/4HANA transformations, more than 2,000 certified consultants, and 23 SAP Quality Awards that signal delivery quality rather than headcount.
The productized accelerators reinforce that position. By packaging hard-won SAP knowledge into KTern.AI and KEBS, the firm can promise more repeatable results than a purely people-based competitor of its size, and can undercut the timelines of much larger rivals.
KaarTech sits in the independent, SAP-specialist tier of the IT services market: bigger and more certified than a regional boutique, more focused and nimble than the global consultancies. Its geographic bet on the Middle East - made before the region became one of the world's most active ERP-modernization markets - has paid off, with Gulf enterprises and governments now a core growth engine.
With SAP pushing customers off legacy ECC and onto S/4HANA and RISE, the addressable work is large and time-bound. KaarTech is positioned squarely in that migration wave.
The model is straightforward B2B services with a software twist: revenue comes from fixed-scope SAP transformation projects, recurring managed-services retainers, SAP license resale, and the proprietary accelerators. That mix produced a reported 44% revenue CAGR over five years, with revenue crossing Rs 1,000 crore (roughly $109M).
Money is the newest part of the story. KaarTech ran without any outside capital for 17 years, then took $30M from A91 Partners in 2023 and about $11M more in a 2026 Series B led by Playbook Partners - lifting its valuation to roughly $231M, about 4X its 2023 mark, with a stated path to an IPO.
