The first thing to disappear was Canale. Then Galliard, Kyne, MicroMass, Mind+Matter, Create, Melt and Navience. These were not bad agencies. That was precisely the trouble. Each had skills, clients, leaders, reputations - and a name that a pharmaceutical marketing chief had to remember before getting any work done.
By January 2024, Inizio Evoke had reached the stage familiar to anyone whose kitchen drawer contains six excellent bottle openers. Accumulation had solved yesterday's needs and created today's friction. The company folded most of its specialist labels into five plain service areas: Brand & Creative, Comms, Transformation, Access and Media. Two names with unusually specific equity, Incisive Health and Evolution Road, survived.
This sounds like branding, because it was announced as branding. It is more useful to read it as an operating confession. Healthcare clients do not wake up eager to understand an agency holding company's family tree. They have a therapy to launch, physicians to reach, reimbursement obstacles to anticipate and patient language that must be both clear and correct. Every internal handoff consumes some of that urgency.
The first failure was the map
Evoke began in 2006 as a digital-first healthcare agency founded by Reid Connolly. Growth brought scale and specialist depth. Private equity brought more pieces. Clayton, Dubilier & Rice acquired Evoke's parent, Huntsworth, in 2020, then UDG Healthcare - owner of Ashfield - in 2021. The combined group became Inizio in 2022. Ashfield Health joined Evoke, and Melt Media followed. By the time the platform was finished assembling, its capabilities ran from patient advertising to policy, analytics and market access.
What failed first was not delivery. It was legibility. An integrated offer cannot feel integrated if the buyer needs a guide to find it. Connolly called the consolidation a “natural evolution that removes barriers to collaboration.” The telling word is barriers. A business usually notices its barriers when customers start walking around them.
What the customer actually buys
The customer is usually a pharmaceutical, biotech, medtech or consumer-health organization. Sometimes it is a nonprofit. The visible roster includes Amgen, Bayer, Gilead, Johnson & Johnson, Lilly and Novavax, along with younger biotechs such as Kura Oncology and Xencor. They are not shopping for “human centricity,” however often the phrase appears in a presentation. They are buying coordinated judgment under regulatory pressure.
A launch illustrates the pitch. Brand people decide what a therapy means. Medical and communications teams translate the science. Access specialists consider payers and affordability. Media finds the audience. Transformation connects the content, channels and measurement. The alternative is hiring several firms and making the client act as air-traffic control.
That breadth also explains the business model. Inizio Evoke sells professional services through projects, retainers, consulting, production, implementation and media work, increasingly wrapped around proprietary intelligence. There is no public menu price. Cost follows the number of markets, audiences, assets, channels, therapeutic complexity and review requirements. For a small company seeking one campaign, this much machinery can be an expensive way to buy a poster. For a global launch with several stakeholder groups, fewer handoffs can be worth paying for.

The software arrived after the rebrand
The 2024 consolidation removed names. The 2025 launches supplied a reason to believe the remaining pieces could share more than stationery. Cognitev is Inizio Evoke's commercial-intelligence platform, built around more than 35 million hours of observed healthcare-professional and patient behavior: 3.2 billion content interactions from 78,000 respondents across four years.
Narratev watches narratives forming across earned media, social and search, then ties those signals to activation. In one published example, a top-20 pharmaceutical client used it to sharpen content for hematologic oncologists and reported a 47% engagement lift. Predictev goes one step further: a commercial team asks a question in ordinary language, compares scenarios and receives recommended next actions, with the audit trails and permissions a regulated client expects.
This is the clearest difference between Inizio Evoke and a conventional integrated agency pitch. Data is meant to travel from audience insight to content, media and optimization instead of being reintroduced at every departmental border. The claim is strongest when a client uses several services. Buy only one, and the advantage shrinks.
Scale is evidence, not absolution
The company has remained large enough to appear near the top of the industry's most watched revenue ranking: sixth in 2023, tenth in 2024, ninth in 2025 and twelfth in 2026. The last move is a reminder that integration is not a permanent trophy. Budgets tighten. Competitors copy. Clients build internal teams. The company said nearly 90% of its 2025 growth came from existing relationships, a more interesting number than the rank because it suggests clients expanded the work they already bought.
Big enough to stay in the conversation

Competitors such as Klick Health, Real Chemistry, IPG Health, Havas Health and Publicis Health can tell similarly broad stories. Inizio Evoke's defensible edge, if it has one, is the combination of a healthcare-only operating history, access to the wider Inizio commercialization group and a named intelligence stack. Its weakness is the mirror image: a platform this broad must continually prove that “connected” means something more than a warm introduction to another team.
The part worth copying
Most companies cannot copy the acquisition trail, the global client list or a data lake measured in billions of interactions. They can copy the diagnosis. Start by listing every piece of internal vocabulary a customer must learn. Circle the words that describe your structure rather than their problem. Then remove one.
Next, make evidence portable. The audience insight that shapes a creative brief should also shape channel selection and measurement. One brief, one set of definitions, one visible owner. Finally, productize the repeated judgment. Inizio Evoke gave its data layer and decision tools names, interfaces and specific jobs. That makes the promise testable.
The model becomes less convincing when the assignment is narrow, the budget cannot support cross-disciplinary work, client data cannot be safely joined, or independent specialist opinions matter more than coordination. It also fails when incentives remain local: one logo cannot integrate teams that are still rewarded for protecting separate revenue. A rebrand removes signs. It does not remove seams.
Inizio Evoke's bet is that fewer signs, shared intelligence and a long healthcare memory can make those seams less costly. The company did not invent the integrated agency. It did something rarer: it noticed that integration is judged from the client's side of the door.
