BCM One. Fewer loose ends.

A phone call can cross half a dozen systems before anyone says hello. BCM One has built a business around making those connections easier to run - and harder to lose track of.

The clue was in the invoices. A health insurer assembled through consolidation was receiving more than 250 telecom bills a month. Its network had accumulated services the way a drawer accumulates spare keys: nobody could be entirely sure which ones still opened something. BCM One’s published account describes the intervention: inventory the estate, remove unnecessary and duplicate services, and buy capacity around actual demand. Monthly spending fell from roughly $980,000 to $470,000. The insurer kept its tier-one suppliers.

The short connection
  • What it does: runs business voice and networks, and supplies platforms other companies can resell.
  • Who buys: enterprise IT teams, smaller businesses and technology service providers.
  • The useful idea: understand the connections you already pay for before buying more.

In that example, the earliest failure was administrative visibility. The services kept arriving; a coherent picture of them did not. Five monthly bills replaced the pile. That is an unusually good introduction to a company whose product names can otherwise sound like alphabet soup.

01 / THE WORK BETWEEN SYSTEMSA call is a small supply chain

BCM One sells voice, connectivity and the work of keeping them together. Through Pure IP, its enterprise business, it connects calling platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Cisco Webex with telephone networks, manages LAN and WAN services, and integrates contact centers. The buyer is often an IT team responsible for multiple buildings, countries or generations of equipment.

A call that sounds simple to the person making it may involve a carrier, a session border controller, a cloud platform, a local network and an endpoint. Each has an owner. If the audio deteriorates, identifying which owner should act becomes a separate job. BCM One’s proposition is to take on more of that coordination.

The company’s expertise sits at the joins: migrations, numbering, network design and platform integration. Its credentials include Microsoft Teams Calling specialization and Cisco networking certifications. Those matter because replacing office telephony is also a scheduling problem. Existing systems have users, dependencies and reasons they cannot all disappear on Friday afternoon.

02 / FIVE BRANDS, DIFFERENT BUYERSSame family. Different front doors.

There is a useful correction to make before shopping: BCM One is now the parent name. In January 2026, it consolidated its enterprise business under Pure IP. The other brands address different buying habits. SkySwitch supplies white-label unified communications as a service, or UCaaS. An IT provider can sell the platform under its own name. SIP.US, SIPTRUNK and Flowroute address SIP trunking, voice and messaging, including self-service and reseller needs.

Scale looks different depending on which door you use. The current corporate website reports more than 140,000 customers across the group and solutions delivered in more than 80 countries. That includes different types of customers; it should not be read as 140,000 large enterprise deployments. The portfolio stretches from a business buying channels online to a multinational commissioning managed infrastructure.

03 / ACQUISITIONS MEET THE PORTAL PROBLEMBuying reach. Then joining it up.

Frank Ahearn and John Cunningham founded the business in 1992. A 2019 recapitalization by Thompson Street Capital Partners supplied the backing for a new phase, with SIP.US and SIPTRUNK joining at the same time. SkySwitch followed in 2021. The Pure IP deal was announced in 2023, adding international voice capabilities. By January 2026, management described nine acquisitions over six years.

Buying capabilities also creates a problem of explanation. Which company should a customer call? Which portal contains the numbers? The Pure IP consolidation addressed the first question. IQ, announced alongside it, targets the second: a common platform for provisioning and managing voice and connectivity services, initially for Pure IP customers.

“not more portals to manage”

That short phrase carries the strategic argument. A supplier promising simplicity has to make its own acquired parts understandable. The investment suggests management recognized that more products alone would not solve the customer’s administrative burden.

04 / WHAT THE BUYER PAYS FORThe price depends on the chore

The business combines recurring managed services, cloud subscriptions and telecom consumption. For a concrete retail example, SIP.US lists month-to-month channels at $24.95 each. A channel supports one concurrent call; telephone numbers, taxes and fees add to the bill. That price is not a proxy for a multinational migration or a managed network contract.

Distribution is part of the product, too. A May 2026 TD SYNNEX partnership lets its partners offer Pure IP and SkySwitch services while BCM One handles associated telecom taxation and regulatory work across supported models. For an IT reseller, the attraction is a recurring service without having to assemble every operational function itself.

The people doing that work get a less abstract set of incentives. BCM One’s careers page describes remote and hybrid roles, training and a family emergency fund. Its Employee of the Year award includes a seven-day Caribbean vacation package. For a business concerned with connections, a week away from the office is a pleasingly concrete reward.

05 / FOLLOW THE CALL, FOLLOW THE MONEYThe next products chase the loose ends

The 2026 releases follow the same operational thread. August’s Pure IP FinOps relaunch connects bills, inventory and contracts, adding AI-supported spend questions. September’s Pure IP Observability follows supported voice sessions to expose issues such as packet loss and congestion. SkySwitch’s AI Agent, launched on SkyConnect in September, answers calls and handles tasks such as appointment booking under a partner’s brand.

There is a named customer behind the cost-management pitch: the FinOps announcement reports $1.8 million in documented savings for Hackensack Meridian Health. The total has no stated time period. Its accounts payable director describes using the service since 2016, with subsequent mergers creating more work for the same tool.

The relevant alternatives depend on the task. RingCentral offers a cloud communications suite; NWN offers managed networking and communications. An enterprise can also coordinate its suppliers internally. BCM One’s distinctive pitch combines platform choice, managed integration and several ways for partners to resell the result.

The lesson to copy is practical: reconcile services with bills, assign responsibility across suppliers, and preserve capacity where demand requires it. A small company with one straightforward phone setup may need only a self-service service. A distributed company must still check country coverage, integration requirements and migration sequencing. Coordination earns its fee when the cost of doing it yourself becomes visible.
