Spun out of Stanford's Magnetic Resonance Systems Research Lab in 2012, its FDA-cleared cardiac MRI product turns a manual, expert-dependent procedure into a largely automated one, and the company is expanding into brain, prostate and spine imaging. Backed by Khosla Ventures and a roster of major U.S. health systems, Vista AI positions automation as a fix for the gap between soaring MRI demand and a shortage of skilled technologists.
General Galactic
General Galactic is an El Segundo, California deep-tech startup building water-based propulsion and propellant-generation systems for spacecraft. Its Genesis platform splits water via electrolysis into hydrogen and oxygen, powering a multimode engine that pairs high-thrust chemical burns with efficient electric maneuvering. Founded in 2023 by Stanford-trained, ex-SpaceX and ex-Varda engineers, the company frames itself as the future 'energy and logistics company' of the solar system - and is applying the same electrolysis reactor tech on Earth to turn waste CO2 into fossil-free natural gas.
Rejuvenation Technologies Inc.

Spun out of Stephen Quake's Stanford lab in 2016 (originally as Bluestar Genomics), it pairs a proprietary 5-hydroxymethylcytosine (5hmC) epigenomic platform with cell-free DNA analysis and machine learning. Its flagship Avantect Pancreatic Cancer Test targets high-risk patients - including adults 50+ newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes - and the company is extending the approach to ovarian and multi-cancer detection.
Hexagon Bio
Hexagon Bio is a Menlo Park biotech that mines the genomes of fungi and other microbes to discover new medicines. Its platform pairs machine learning, genomics, and synthetic biology to read DNA sequences, predict the small molecules they encode, and connect those molecules to the human proteins they act on - skipping the random trial-and-error that has long defined natural-product drug discovery. The company is focused on novel cytotoxic payloads for antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) in oncology, and in late 2025 extended its approach to agriculture through a joint venture with Corteva.

Its FDA-cleared, vendor-neutral products - including SubtlePET, SubtleMR/SubtleHD, SubtleSYNTH and AiMIFY - help radiology departments shorten scan times, reduce contrast dose, and increase patient throughput without buying new hardware.
