David Weber, PhD, is the President and CEO of Mosanna Therapeutics, a Redwood City biotech developing MOS118, a bedtime nasal spray for obstructive sleep apnea that aims to restore the body's natural airway reflex during sleep. A biotech operator with more than 30 years in drug development, capital formation, and corporate strategy, he previously led Otonomy through its IPO and multiple clinical programs, and served as CEO of MacuSight and Oculex Pharmaceuticals. He joined Mosanna in June 2025 as the company launched with an $80 million Series A.

Wesper is a New York-based sleep-health company that has built a wireless, wearable patch and cloud platform for clinical-grade, at-home sleep apnea testing. Founded in 2017 (originally as Tatch) by Dr. Amir Reuveny and Adi Mordechai, Wesper combines flexible printed electronics, machine learning, and a provider portal to replace the wires and single-night snapshots of traditional sleep labs with comfortable, repeatable, longitudinal testing. The FDA-cleared Wesper Lab lets patients test at home while giving physicians high-resolution data that correlates closely with in-lab polysomnography.
XII Medical
XII Medical is a Union City, California medical device company building a minimally invasive neuromodulation therapy for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Founded in 2017 and led by CEO Garrett Schwab, the company is developing an implantable platform designed to be smaller, more flexible and easier to implant than existing nerve-stimulation systems - an alternative for the estimated 425 million people worldwide with moderate-to-severe OSA who struggle with CPAP masks. Backed by Cleveland Clinic, Ajax Health, Omega Funds and Intuitive Ventures, XII Medical closed a $45M Series B in August 2024 to fund product and clinical development.
Neru Health
Neru Health is a Boston-based vertical AI company automating patient support and resupply for durable medical equipment (DME) providers and sleep clinics. Its platform centers on Nora, an AI 'active sleep coach' that texts, calls, and emails patients to troubleshoot CPAP devices, coach therapy adherence, and coordinate supply reorders, backed by a digital-phenotyping engine that personalizes each interaction. Spun out of Harvard's Blavatnik Fellowship in 2023 after co-founder Morgan Moncada struggled to get care for his own sleep apnea, Neru says it now serves 30,000+ patients and cuts provider labor costs by up to 60%.
Vena Vitals
Vena Vitals is an Irvine, California medical-device startup building a soft, skin-worn sticker sensor that continuously measures blood pressure without a cuff or an arterial line. Spun out of UC Irvine biomedical engineering research, its VeriTrack system uses a patented wrinkled-metal capacitive pressure sensor to capture beat-to-beat data with accuracy validated against arterial lines in operating rooms across the country. Founded in 2019 by Ray Liu, Michelle Khine, and Josh Kim and backed by Y Combinator, the company is pursuing FDA clearance to bring continuous, noninvasive blood pressure monitoring first into hospitals and later into homes.
Siesta Medical, Inc.
Siesta Medical, Inc. is a privately held medical device company in Los Gatos, California that builds minimally invasive implants and instruments to treat obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Its flagship AIRLIFT procedure - performed with the FDA-cleared Encore System and the Revolution Suture Passer - lets ear, nose and throat surgeons pull the hyoid bone and tongue base forward to keep the airway open during sleep. The knotless, fully adjustable approach takes roughly 30 minutes, works regardless of a patient's anatomy, BMI or apnea severity, and has been used in more than 2,000 patients.
