A former dLocal and AstroPay business developer, he built nocnoc from a $300,000 friends-and-family seed into a company that has raised roughly $22 million, led by PayPal Ventures, and operates the largest cross-border stores in the region across Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Argentina.
Alan Descoins is the CEO of Tryolabs, a Montevideo-born AI consultancy that grew from four people in 2009 into a 100+ person firm building custom machine-learning systems for clients like Nvidia, Hyundai and Ulta Beauty. A self-taught coder since age 12 and a Computer Engineering graduate of Universidad de la Republica, he was named to TIME's 100 Most Influential People in AI in 2025.
