Dave Danielsen
Dave Danielsen is the CEO of CairnSurgical, a clinical-stage medical device company in Lebanon, New Hampshire, that spun out of Dartmouth in 2015. He leads development of the Breast Cancer Locator System, a patient-specific, 3D-printed surgical guide paired with visualization software that helps surgeons see a tumor's size, shape, and location before a lumpectomy and remove it with cleaner margins. A West Point graduate with a Tuck School MBA, Danielsen has spent his career running commercial-stage health and diagnostics companies, and is now steering CairnSurgical through its U.S. pivotal trial, FDA submission, and early commercial launch in Europe.
David Carey
David Carey is the Chief Executive Officer of Preceptis Medical, the Golden Valley, Minnesota company behind the Hummingbird Tympanostomy Tube System, an FDA-cleared device that lets clinicians place pediatric ear tubes in the office without general anesthesia. Appointed CEO in July 2025, Carey brings three decades of commercial leadership across the medical device industry, including senior roles at Pristine Surgical, Stryker, Medtronic, and Invuity, where he helped guide the company through an IPO before its acquisition by Stryker. At Preceptis, he is focused on scaling the Hummingbird device to more surgeons and families nationwide.
Ehud Bendory
Ehud Bendory is the CEO and co-founder of 3NT Medical, a Rosh Ha'ayin, Israel company building sterile, single-use endoscopes for ear, nose, and throat specialists. An electrical engineer with an MBA and a former IDF Unit 8200 intelligence officer, he has spent roughly two decades in the Israeli medical device industry, and now leads a team whose Colibri and Peregrine scopes have earned FDA 510(k) clearance and CE marking. He co-founded the company with his brother Eran and has raised tens of millions in venture funding, including a round led by Japan's HOYA Corporation.
Ilya Budik
Ilya Budik is the CEO of CardioRenal Systems, a Milford, Massachusetts medical device company behind the RenalPro System (sold as RenalGuard outside the U.S.), a technology built to prevent acute kidney injury in cardiac surgery, interventional cardiology, and ICU patients. A medtech executive with roughly a decade of experience across strategy, finance, and business development, he has steered the company through FDA Breakthrough Device Designation, CE Mark approval abroad, and an FDA IDE approval clearing the way for a U.S. pivotal trial. He previously led the neurodiagnostics company NeuroQuest and worked in innovation strategy and healthcare finance.
James Reinstein
James Reinstein is the President and CEO of Conformal Medical, a New Hampshire medical device company building next-generation left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) technology to reduce stroke risk in patients with atrial fibrillation. A three-decade medtech operator, he spent 17 years at Boston Scientific in commercial leadership across Asia, Europe and Latin America before running a string of device companies as CEO, including Cutera, Drawbridge Health, Aptus Endosystems and Saranas. Known for insisting that a device company think commercially from day one, he took the helm at Conformal in 2022 to guide its foam-based CLAAS system through pivotal trials toward market.
Mark Foster
Mark Foster is the president and CEO of CurvaFix, a Bellevue, Washington medical device company building curved intramedullary implants that follow the natural bend of the pelvis to repair fractures. He took the top job in July 2023, the same week the company closed a $39 million Series C led by MVM Partners, and his mandate is commercial scale: turning a novel, FDA-cleared implant into a nationally distributed product. Before CurvaFix he ran Trice Medical and led the U.S. sports medicine business at Smith & Nephew, part of roughly 24 years spent almost entirely inside orthopedics and medical devices.
Zoar Engelman
Zoar Engelman is the co-founder and CEO of Axon Therapies, a clinical-stage medical device company chasing a stubborn problem: heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, a condition that has resisted nearly every drug thrown at it. A biomedical engineer with a PhD from the University of Auckland, Engelman spent two decades turning lab ideas into implantable and catheter-based devices, co-founding roughly nine ventures and helping raise more than $150 million along the way. In September 2025 he stepped up from Chief Scientific Officer to CEO as Axon closed an oversubscribed $32 million Series A to advance SAVM, an implant-free procedure that quiets an overactive sympathetic nervous system to rebalance the body's blood volume.
Craig Davis
Craig Davis is the President and CEO of NovaScan, a Chicago-based clinical-stage oncology company building a low-cost, point-of-care platform that uses bioimpedance and machine learning to detect and stratify cancer in real time. A medtech executive and investor with more than two decades of experience, he has raised over $20 million for NovaScan, secured a CPRIT grant, and helped steer clinical trials in skin, lung, breast, GI and pancreatic cancers. Earlier in his career he helped shape companies including New Aera (acquired by Inogen), Merge Healthcare (IPO; later acquired by IBM), and OrthoScan, and was a partner at healthcare investment bank Healthios.
Brian Miller
Brian Miller is the CEO of Sovato, the Santa Barbara company building the first platform to let health systems deploy and scale remote robotic surgery. An electrical engineer turned roboticist with a PhD from Northwestern in haptics, he spent his first job at Computer Motion writing software for the AESOP and ZEUS robots and watched the 2001 Operation Lindbergh, the first transatlantic remote surgery. Twenty-three years at Intuitive Surgical followed, where he rose from control-systems analyst to Chief Digital Officer and Head of Digital and AI Strategy. In April 2026 he returned to the frontier he started on, taking Sovato from early market development toward its first patient programs in 2027.
Martin Cannon
Martin Cannon is the founder and former president and CEO of Hemanext, the Lexington, Massachusetts company that turned an unproven idea - storing blood with the oxygen taken out - into an FDA-authorized, CE-marked medical device. Starting in the late 1990s with intellectual property licensed from Los Alamos National Laboratory and a handful of employees, he spent more than two decades building Hemanext into a recognized name in red blood cell transfusion, raising over $150 million in equity and NIH funding and securing more than 200 patents along the way. He retired in September 2023, handing the CEO role to longtime CTO Andrew Dunham, and now advises early-stage companies and mentors entrepreneurs.
