Founded in 2025 by three repeat founders out of Origin Financial and Glio, the Y Combinator-backed company pitches itself as 'Cursor for CTOs' and says it has reviewed 70M+ lines of code for customers with a combined valuation north of $3B.
Vitaly Gordon
Vitaly Gordon is the co-founder and CEO of Faros AI, an AI-native engineering intelligence platform he started in 2019 with former Salesforce colleagues. Before Faros, he founded Salesforce Einstein and led it as VP of Engineering and Data Science, scaling it from zero to a platform serving billions of predictions per day. Earlier in his career he was a data science lead at LinkedIn and a data science manager at LivePerson. He now builds tooling that helps engineering organizations measure and improve productivity, and navigate the shift to AI-augmented software development.

Code Climate is a New York-based software engineering intelligence company founded in 2011. It began with automated code review and quality analysis, grew into Velocity - an analytics platform that gives engineering leaders visibility into delivery, DORA metrics and team health - and has since repositioned around helping enterprise leaders measure and manage AI-native engineering transformation, pairing a data platform with Forward Deployed Engineers.
Josh Knowles
Josh Knowles is the CEO of Code Climate, the New York software company whose Velocity platform gives engineering leaders at large organizations data on how their teams actually build software. A Ruby developer by training with more than two decades in the field, he spent years at Pivotal Labs and VMware building and running consulting and application-services teams across the US and Europe before joining Code Climate, rising from VP of Strategy and Operations to General Manager to CEO. He took the top job as Code Climate spun out its code-quality product into a separate company, Qlty Software, and refocused entirely on software engineering intelligence for large, complex enterprises.
Coder
Coder is an Austin-based software company that moves software development off individual laptops and into secure, self-hosted cloud development environments (CDEs). Its open-source and enterprise platform uses infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) to provision standardized, governed developer workspaces that run on Kubernetes or VMs across any cloud, on-prem, or air-gapped setup. Increasingly, Coder positions itself as the control plane for enterprise AI development, where human developers and AI coding agents work inside the same governed environment. It raised a $90M Series C led by KKR in April 2026.

Faros AI is an AI-native engineering intelligence platform that pulls data from the tools software teams already use - GitHub, Jira, CI/CD, incident systems and more - and turns it into a single view of how engineering work actually flows. Founded by the ex-Salesforce team that built Einstein, Faros helps engineering leaders measure DORA metrics, track delivery, quantify the ROI of AI coding assistants like GitHub Copilot, and automate R&D cost capitalization across the full software development lifecycle.
Okteto
Okteto is a developer platform that moves Kubernetes development, preview, and testing environments into the cloud. Founded in 2018 by three former Atlassian, Docker, and Google engineers and backed by Y Combinator, Okteto lets developers spin up production-like environments with a single command, sync code changes live in seconds, and automatically create preview environments for every pull request. In 2025 the company extended the same infrastructure to AI coding agents, giving each agent its own isolated, production-like environment to build, test, and verify code at scale.
Sleuth
Sleuth is a San Francisco software company founded by former Atlassian engineers who helped build Jira and Bitbucket. It began as a 'mission control' platform for continuous delivery, giving engineering teams automated DORA metrics and deployment tracking, then expanded into governing AI inside organizations. Its current product, Sleuth Skills, lets companies define agent skills, rules, prompts and MCP servers once and distribute them - with approval workflows, audit trails and access controls - across AI clients like Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Gemini and Codex. Sleuth has raised roughly $25M, including a $22M Series A led by Felicis in 2022.
Windsurf
Windsurf (formerly Codeium, originally Exafunction) is a Mountain View-based AI coding company that built one of the first agentic AI-native IDEs, powered by its Cascade agent. Founded in 2021 by MIT classmates Varun Mohan and Douglas Chen, it grew to over 1 million developers and $82M ARR before a dramatic July 2025 split: Google paid roughly $2.4B to hire its founders and license its technology, while Cognition (maker of Devin) acquired the remaining product, brand, team, and customer base. In June 2026, Cognition relaunched the Windsurf IDE as Devin Desktop, an agent command center for managing local and cloud coding agents.
Dan Adler
Dan Adler is the CEO of Sourcegraph, the code intelligence platform powering search and AI across 54 billion lines of code for companies like Uber, Stripe, and Atlassian. A Rice computer science graduate and Stanford MBA, Adler joined Sourcegraph in 2016 as an early employee - writing infrastructure code, selling the first contracts, and building every major business function from scratch - before being elevated to CEO in December 2025 when co-founder Quinn Slack spun out Amp Inc. He has shepherded the company from zero revenue to $50M ARR and a $2.6B valuation, and believes agentic AI will only amplify the need for enterprise-grade code context.
Hans Dockter
Hans Dockter is the founder and CEO of Gradle Technologies, the company behind the Gradle build tool - downloaded over 23 million times per month - and Develocity, an enterprise developer toolchain observability platform. A German-born physicist-turned-software-engineer, he co-created Gradle in 2008 out of personal frustration with existing build systems, transforming it into one of the most widely adopted build automation tools in software development. Under his leadership, Gradle Technologies has raised $53.2M in total funding and grown to 170+ employees, serving enterprises including Netflix, Google, LinkedIn, and Airbnb.
