Amelia Degenkolb
Amelia Degenkolb is the CEO and co-founder of Novocuff, a Mountain View medical device company building the Cervical Control System, a device designed to stabilize the cervix, retain amniotic fluid and prolong pregnancies threatened by preterm premature rupture of membranes. A biomedical engineer who spent seven years as the first employee and lead engineer at Alydia Health, she helped bring the Jada System for postpartum hemorrhage to market before that company's $240M acquisition by Organon. In July 2024 she raised an oversubscribed $26M Series A to fund a U.S. pivotal trial aimed at reducing preterm births, the leading cause of infant mortality worldwide.
Corey Cook
Dr. Corey Cook is the Vice President and CEO of Cal Poly Solano Campus (formerly California State University Maritime Academy), a role he assumed July 1, 2025. A political scientist with deep roots in Bay Area politics, Cook brings decades of academic leadership experience from Saint Mary's College of California (where he served as Executive Vice President and Provost) and Boise State University (where he founded the School of Public Service). With bachelor's degrees from UC Berkeley and a doctorate from Wisconsin, Cook is a go-to political analyst on KTVU News and has contributed to national outlets including The Atlantic, making him one of the few higher-education executives who regularly shapes public political discourse.
Samson Wu
Samson Wu is a Recruiting Operations Partner at Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), one of Silicon Valley's most influential venture capital firms. With roots in economics from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and formative stints at AIESEC, Uber, and CloudKitchens, he has become a key architect of how a16z and its portfolio companies find and hire world-class talent. He supports the firm's New Media team as an HR Business Partner and brings operational rigor to recruiting functions that span early-stage startups to growth-stage companies across the a16z portfolio.

She brings two decades of recruiting expertise spanning elite executive search firms - Korn Ferry, Spencer Stuart, and Heidrick & Struggles - and six years as Pinterest's first business recruiter, where she built hiring infrastructure from the ground up. At a16z, she helps portfolio companies find and place senior leadership talent, authoring practical guides on hiring CROs, CMOs, and Chief Customer Officers.
