HealthSherpa is the largest private enrollment platform for Affordable Care Act (ACA) health insurance in the United States. Born in 2013 as a faster, cleaner alternative to a glitchy HealthCare.gov, it now helps millions of Americans shop, compare, and enroll in subsidized marketplace plans in about seven minutes, while giving tens of thousands of agents and brokers free tools to manage their books of business. The company runs a federally approved Enhanced Direct Enrollment (EDE) platform used by consumers, insurance carriers, and agencies alike.
George Kalogeropoulos
George Kalogeropoulos is the co-founder and CEO of HealthSherpa, the private-sector enrollment engine that sits on top of HealthCare.gov. When the federal exchange buckled at its 2013 launch, he and two collaborators built a faster alternative in a matter of days. HealthSherpa has since enrolled more than 10 million Americans in ACA coverage. Raised in Greece by a sculptor father and a tutor mother, he studied political science at Yale, did a stint at Bridgewater Associates, then pivoted a Y Combinator rent-prediction startup into a mission to make health insurance legible.
Joseph Antos
Joseph Antos is one of Washington's most-quoted health economists, the Wilson H. Taylor Scholar in Health Care and Retirement Policy and a senior fellow emeritus at the American Enterprise Institute. A University of Rochester PhD who started as a Cornell math major, he spent decades inside the federal machinery - the Congressional Budget Office, the Council of Economic Advisers, OMB, the Department of Labor and HHS - before becoming AEI's go-to voice on Medicare, the federal budget, and market-based reform. He has advised the World Bank and foreign governments, served terms regulating hospital rates in Maryland, and teaches at George Washington University.
