Solutionz makes
the room work

A 140-foot video wall gets the applause. The real business is making the screens, sound, networks, and people work together - then answering when something goes wrong.

At Mohegan Sun’s FanDuel Sportsbook, the video wall is 140 feet wide. That is the easy part to understand. The more interesting number is its weight: 20,000 pounds. Solutionz, working with Peerless-AV and Q-SYS, had to engineer a custom way to suspend the curved display from the ceiling. Before anyone could admire the picture, someone had to solve the building.

It is a useful introduction to a company whose work is usually mistaken for the things it installs. A screen is visible. The coordination that makes it useful is harder to photograph. Solutionz occupies that space: between the manufacturer’s equipment, the architect’s room, the IT department’s network, and the person who expects everything to work.

THE SHORT VERSION
  • The job: design, install, and support audiovisual systems for organizations.
  • The customers: enterprises, schools, healthcare providers, government, and entertainment venues.
  • The proposition: regional expertise, wider deployment reach, and support after installation.
  • The useful lesson: buy a working environment, with responsibilities attached.

01 A room is a chain of decisions

Solutionz’s service catalogue includes conferencing, digital signage, professional audio, video walls, classroom technology, and command-and-control environments. These are different rooms with different ambitions. A school needs students to hear. A meeting room needs people elsewhere to participate. A sportsbook needs multiple live events to become one coherent spectacle.

Its customers include institutions with very little patience for a temperamental room. Published projects feature FanDuel, Sunbelt Rentals, Edwards Lifesciences, Blackbaud, and universities. The company’s stated mission is to enhance human connections. Translated into purchasing language, that means making the equipment serve the activity that brought people together.

The work crosses disciplines: design, engineering, procurement, installation, configuration, testing, and documentation. Solutionz also offers network infrastructure and mission-critical data center services, including copper and fiber cabling. The common thread is physical implementation. Someone must turn the specification into an environment that can be operated and maintained.

02 Ask the film students first

Consider the work Spinitar did for Loyola Marymount University’s Playa Vista film-school campus, which opened in 2018. This project predates Solutionz’s acquisition of Spinitar in 2022, and makes a good exhibit of the expertise it acquired.

There were 33 rooms to integrate. The team met teachers and students early to understand how they taught and worked. Screening, sound mixing, editing, and animation require different arrangements; an impressive equipment list would not settle those differences. Spinitar worked with the university and architects to convert intended uses into an actionable design.

The case study reports completion in just under eight months against a one-year timeline. The lesson is available to any buyer: settle the room’s purpose with its users before settling its equipment. A late discovery about how people work can be far more awkward than an early conversation.

03 The network behind the movie

Arizona State University’s MIX Center provides another view of that specialist work. Its production environment includes Dolby Atmos screening and recording spaces, mixing consoles, color-grading stations, soundstages, and editing rooms. The project account describes nearly 120,000 square feet of network complexity, with Dante carrying audiovisual signals for recording and monitoring.

The university wanted equipment investments to remain useful as production technology changed. Its previous space and equipment had aged; the new building needed both present capability and future adaptability. Spinitar’s task included reconciling technical installations with architectural aesthetics, while navigating pandemic supply-chain disruption.

“They always help us stay ahead of the curve,” said founding director Jacob Pinholster of Spinitar. The useful detail is the connective work: a production facility depends on what happens between its specialist rooms.

04 Buying the people who know the room

Kirk Fernandez started Solutionz Conferencing in 2001, according to Fernandez Holdings. A public procurement record places incorporation in 2002. The business grew into the investment group’s wider portfolio, and acquisitions became a recurring means of extending its reach.

The geography tells the story. Unified Technology Systems added Southeast expertise in 2019. In June 2022, Solutionz announced an agreement to acquire VSGi, a firm with substantial federal-government experience. That November, it bought Spinitar, extending its position in California and Arizona. Solutionz described Spinitar as its ninth acquisition.

These deals carried relationships as well as technical capabilities. In the Total Video Products announcement, regional president Jill Armand described how owner Larry Gallner had moved through her working life as mentor, competitor, and acquisition. A whole industry career, compressed into a sentence.

Fernandez Holdings says its capital comes from its founder and portfolio companies, without limited partners imposing a timetable to return funds. That ownership structure gives Solutionz a different context from a venture-funded software company. Its expansion involves established service businesses and their existing customers.

In 2023, Solutionz joined PSNI Global Alliance as a Certified Solution Provider, adding access to partner integrators for international deployments. The attraction for a customer with several sites is straightforward: broader coordination, with people available to do the local work.

05 The second sale is reliability

A room’s opening day is a poor stopping point for its owner. Solutionz sells continued assistance through support agreements, remote monitoring, technician staffing, and user training. Its Integrated Support options include help desk access, onsite assistance, equipment coverage, spares, and scheduled recertification, with coverage defined by the agreement.

Remote monitoring adds automated tests, alerts, and tickets. Customer success staff monitor service commitments and review performance. The intention is to discover trouble earlier and give the customer a recognizable route to resolution. The distinction matters to an organization whose own IT team already has plenty to do.

  2. 02 / IntegrateDesign, install, commission
  3. 03 / OperateTraining, monitoring, support

Solutionz received NSCA’s 2025 Customer Experience Award. Its account of the support model emphasizes geographically aligned teams, customer familiarity, intelligent ticket routing, and remote resolution. Those are useful operational details: the quality of the answer depends partly on whether the person answering knows the customer’s environment.

Networked equipment also introduces security obligations. Solutionz Security offers assessments, compliance services, and managed monitoring. For buyers, this brings another question into the room plan: how will these devices fit the organization’s security practices?

06 Budget for the room’s working life

Solutionz prices integration by project scope and support by factors including system count, coverage hours, onsite versus remote service, and response expectations. Room complexity, acoustics, site count, and security requirements affect the proposal. Financing and leasing are also available.

A sensible buying brief therefore separates deployment from operation. Ask what will be delivered, what will be tested, who will be trained, and which response commitment you are buying. Compare proposals against the same assumptions. A beautifully specified room and an adequately supported room are two procurement decisions that deserve to meet before the contract is signed.

For eligible schools, government bodies, and healthcare organizations, Solutionz offers free Grant Program Services. It helps identify funding sources, assess readiness, plan budgets, and navigate implementation. Its current offer expressly excludes direct grant writing, though it can connect clients to outside writers. Free advice can reduce the distance between a technology need and a funded project; eligibility still determines which opportunities fit.

07 New pictures, familiar obligations

By September 2026, Solutionz was publishing new coverage of HP Dimension with Google Beam, an immersive communication offering intended to make remote conversations feel more present. Solutionz offers evaluation, integration, and support. The hardware is HP’s; Beam is Google’s. The integrator’s work surrounds both.

Solutionz competes in a market where alternatives such as AVI-SPL also provide integration and managed services. Its case rests on the combination of acquired regional knowledge, specialist projects, support operations, and alliance reach. Those are reasons to examine its fit for a particular deployment, rather than assume every room requires the same partner.

For a simple space with modest requirements and capable internal support, a substantial integration engagement may be unnecessary. The more locations, specialist uses, network dependencies, and service commitments a project contains, the more useful coordination becomes. The reader can copy the starting question: what must people be able to do in this room, and who will keep it possible?

The giant wall helps make Solutionz visible. The smaller decisions explain why a customer might hire it.
