The Front Desk, Rewritten

Ask most hotel-software vendors who they build for, and the answer is a 200-room chain with an IT department. Softinn Solutions asked a narrower, more useful question: what does the owner of a twenty-room boutique hotel actually need to get through the day? The answer became a cloud platform now used by more than 1,000 hoteliers across Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines and Singapore.

Founded in Ayer Keroh, Melaka in 2012, Softinn is the work of co-founders JeeShen Lee and Caren, who first sketched the idea as students at Multimedia University and pitched it in a 2009 MDEC business-plan competition. The company that grew from it is unglamorous by design. Its mission is four plain words - "make hotelier work easier" - and its vision is stated as a number: connect 100 tools that improve hotelier productivity.

Five of those tools exist today. A cloud Property Management System runs the front desk. A Channel Manager pushes room rates and availability to more than forty online travel agencies. A commission-free Booking Engine converts direct bookings on a hotel's own website. A Website CMS handles the site itself, with SEO and multi-language support. And a self-service Kiosk lets a guest book, check in, pay and collect a key card without touching the front desk.

The through-line is integration. Each product is built to talk to the others, so a rate change or a new reservation ripples across the whole stack instead of stranding a small hotel with four dashboards and four passwords. For a property that runs on a skeleton staff, that consolidation is the product.

Products & Services

Core

Hotel PMS

A cloud property-management system that automates the front desk - check-in/out, reservations, invoicing and guest profiles - and feeds every other product in the stack.

Distribution

Channel Manager

Two-way connectivity to 40+ OTAs, pushing rates and availability across all channels in about a minute to cut overbookings and lift visibility.

Direct

Booking Engine

A commission-free direct-booking engine wired into the PMS and channel manager, so a hotel's own website can compete with the OTAs.

Web

Website CMS

A hotel website builder with SEO, multi-language support and a mobile-friendly, conversion-focused design.

On-site

Hotel Kiosk

A self-service kiosk where guests book, check in and out, pay and collect a key card - contactless, and available around the clock.

Who It Serves, What It Fixes

Who uses it

Owners and operators of small to mid-sized properties who lack the staff and IT budget of a global chain.

  • Boutique hotels and B&Bs
  • Resorts and luxury villas
  • Hotel chains and multi-property groups
  • Notable clients: Hotel Seri Malaysia, Amanjena Resort

Problems it solves

  • Overbookings caused by out-of-sync OTA calendars
  • OTA commissions that erode direct-booking margins
  • Manual front-desk work and paper invoicing
  • Local and federal tax compliance across APAC markets
  • Staffing gaps at check-in, covered by self-service kiosks

How It's Different

Global platforms such as Cloudbeds, Little Hotelier, eZee Technosys and STAAH cover the same broad ground - a PMS, a channel manager, a booking engine. Softinn's edge is not that it invented these categories; it's where the company chose to plant them.

First, localization. Softinn's software is built to meet the tax rules of Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Singapore - the kind of regional plumbing a Silicon Valley vendor rarely bothers to learn, and exactly the kind that trips up a small hotel at audit time.

Second, focus. The company aims squarely at boutique and small-to-mid properties rather than enterprise chains, which shapes pricing, onboarding and the design of features like the self-service kiosk.

Third, the bundle. Rather than sell a single tool, Softinn ties five together under one login, betting that a small operator values one integrated system over a shelf of best-of-breed apps that don't quite talk to each other.

06

The Business Model

Recurring by design

Softinn runs on B2B SaaS subscriptions. Hotels pay recurring fees for the cloud platform, with add-ons such as kiosks and integrations. Revenue scales with the number of properties and the breadth of the product bundle a customer adopts.

The commission-free booking engine is positioned as a direct counter to OTA commissions - a recurring subscription in exchange for keeping more of each direct sale.
