What It Does

A curated way to book - and run - luxury villas

The Luxe Nomad is a luxury vacation rental company and villa-management business headquartered in Singapore. It began in 2012 with a narrow, stubborn idea: that reserving a beautiful private villa should not feel harder than booking a hotel room. Founder Stephanie Chai built the first version as a booking portal - a hand-picked collection of villas travellers could actually trust.

Over time the company did something more ambitious than list properties. It started operating them. Today The Luxe Nomad both markets villas to high-end travellers and manages those villas on behalf of their owners, handling reservations, guest services and day-to-day operations across a portfolio of more than 100 properties and 1,400-plus rooms.

Its destinations read like a luxury-travel wish list: Bali, Koh Samui and Phuket for beaches, and Japan's Hokkaido - Niseko, Rusutsu and Furano - for ski season. The villas range from affordable luxury to the genuinely rarefied; a four-bedroom Niseko chalet can run around USD$20,000 a night over Christmas.

"The Luxe Nomad was built on a simple idea - that booking a luxury villa should be easy."

Customers & Problems Solved

Two customers, one platform

The travellers

Families, groups, couples and wellness seekers who want a private villa rather than a hotel - and who don't want to gamble on a listing they can't verify. The Luxe Nomad's answer is curation: a hand-picked collection, backed by concierge support for transfers, in-villa dining and local experiences. The problem it solves for them is trust and effort - finding a genuinely great property, quickly, without wading through endless listings.

The villa owners

Owners of high-end villas and chalets who want their asset filled and well-run, but don't want to become full-time hospitality operators. For them The Luxe Nomad handles marketing, reservations and management. That two-sided design - serving guests and owners at once - is the quiet engine behind the business and a big part of why it became the region's largest manager.

How It's Different & Where It Fits

Depth in a few places beats being everywhere

Global platforms like Airbnb Luxe, Onefinestay and Marriott Homes & Villas compete on scale and brand. The Luxe Nomad competes on the opposite instinct - curation and control. Rather than list as many homes as possible, it hand-picks properties and, increasingly, manages them directly, owning the guest experience end to end.

That focus shows up geographically. Instead of thin coverage worldwide, it built real depth in the destinations that matter to Asian luxury travel - Bali, Thailand and Japan's ski country - where local relationships and on-the-ground management are hard for a distant platform to replicate.

Business Model & Expertise

How the money and the know-how work

The model

Two revenue streams from one platform: booking revenue and commissions when travellers reserve a villa, and marketing-and-management fees from the owners whose villas it runs. It blends a consumer-facing e-commerce portal (B2C / D2C) with a B2B management service - a structure that lets each side reinforce the other.

The expertise

A decade of luxury hospitality operations across multiple Asian markets - from villa curation and revenue management to concierge and on-the-ground guest services. Founder Stephanie Chai's background in hospitality and media gave the brand early credibility, and the team has since built practical depth in running high-end properties at scale.
