Founded in 2021 by Tullie Murrell, Daniel Camilleri, and Shai Bruhis, the company raised an $8M Series A led by Madrona in 2024 and was acquired by live-commerce marketplace Whatnot in July 2026.
Upstash
Upstash is a serverless data platform built for developers who deploy at the edge. Its flagship product is a Redis-compatible database that talks over HTTP instead of a persistent TCP connection, which makes it work inside serverless and edge runtimes where traditional Redis breaks. Around that core it has added QStash (a serverless message queue and scheduler), Upstash Vector (a serverless vector database), Search, and Workflow (durable serverless functions). Everything is priced per request with a guaranteed cap, so developers start free and pay only for what they use. Founded in 2020 by ex-Hazelcast engineers, Upstash powers Vercel KV under the hood and reached $1M ARR two years after its seed round.
Auguria, Inc.
Auguria is a cybersecurity AI company that builds the Security Knowledge Layer (SKL), a vector-based platform that ingests the flood of logs, events, and telemetry that security teams collect, then denoises, classifies, and prioritizes it - filtering out roughly 99% of the noise so analysts can focus on the ~1% of events that actually matter. Founded in 2022 by Keith Palumbo and Chris Coulter and emerged from stealth in March 2024 with $6.5M in seed funding from SYN Ventures and SentinelOne's S Ventures, Auguria plugs into existing SIEM and data-lake infrastructure to cut security data costs and surface threats others miss.
Orama
Orama is an open-source search company building an 'answer engine' for developers - a lightweight, high-performance stack that bundles full-text, vector, and hybrid search with automatic embedding generation and built-in LLMs. Started as the open-source project Lyra and incorporated as OramaSearch Inc. in 2023 by Issac Roth and Michele Riva, its core library ships in under 2KB and runs in the browser, on servers, or at the edge. Orama powers site search and AI answers for developer platforms including nodejs.org, tanstack.com, and solidjs.org, and its OramaCore runtime packages a search engine, vector database, and LLM interface into one deployable unit.
Chang She
Chang She is the co-founder and CEO of LanceDB, the company behind the open-source Lance columnar format and a database built for multimodal AI. A co-author of the pandas library alongside Wes McKinney, he spent nearly two decades building data tooling - from quant research at AQR to the DataPad startup (acquired by Cloudera) to VP of Engineering at Tubi - before setting out to replace the aging Parquet-and-Spark stack with what he calls the Multimodal Lakehouse. In June 2025 LanceDB raised a $30M Series A led by Theory Ventures, with adoption at Runway, Midjourney, and Character.ai.
Superlinked, Inc.
Superlinked is a San Francisco-based infrastructure company building the 'vector computer' - a compute and data engineering framework that turns complex enterprise data into vector embeddings for Search, RAG, Recommendations and Analytics. It now also ships an open-source Inference Engine that lets agent teams self-host every model their agents call, claiming roughly 50x cost savings vs hosted per-token APIs.
Issac Roth
Issac Roth is a Silicon Valley founder, operator and investor who has spent 25-plus years turning hard infrastructure into products developers actually use. He created Red Hat OpenShift out of his startup Makara, was founding CEO of the Node.js company StrongLoop (acquired by IBM, where he became a cloud CTO), and invested as a Venture Partner at Shasta Ventures. Today he is co-founder and CEO of Orama, an open-source search and answer-engine company building a fourth-generation database that fuses full-text search, vector search and built-in LLMs to power AI agents and copilots.
Redis
Redis is the company behind the world's most popular in-memory data store, the open-source database that began as a side project by Salvatore Sanfilippo in 2009 and now sits in the stack of most of the internet's largest applications. It sells managed and self-hosted enterprise versions - Redis Cloud and Redis Software - layered on the open-source core, and has pushed hard into real-time AI use cases like vector search and LLM memory. After a turbulent 2024 licensing fight that spawned the AWS-backed Valkey fork, Redis returned to an open-source license (AGPLv3) with Redis 8 in 2025.
LanceDB
LanceDB builds the data backbone for multimodal AI. Its open-source Lance columnar format and lakehouse let teams store, search, and train on text, images, video and embeddings in one system - replacing the brittle stack of Parquet files, vector stores and feature pipelines that AI teams usually stitch together. Used by Midjourney, Runway, Character.AI, WeRide and others, LanceDB raised a $30M Series A in 2025, bringing total funding to roughly $41M.
Rowan Trollope
Rowan Trollope is the CEO of Redis, the ubiquitous in-memory data platform powering real-time applications worldwide. A self-taught programmer who started coding on a Commodore 64 at age 11, he brings over 30 years of technology leadership across consumer products, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and collaboration software. Before Redis, he quadrupled revenue at Five9 and spent years at Cisco reinventing its collaboration business. At Redis, he has repositioned the company from a beloved developer caching tool into a critical AI infrastructure layer, launching semantic caching (LangCache), acquiring real-time data platform Decodable, and steering a controversial but successful licensing pivot that he says has produced record growth.
Daniel Svonava
Daniel Svonava is the Co-Founder and CEO of Superlinked, an ML infrastructure company building self-hosted inference infrastructure for vector search and document processing. A Slovak-born engineer and entrepreneur based in San Francisco, he spent six years as an ML Tech Lead at YouTube building ad performance systems powering over $10B in annual ad revenue before co-founding Superlinked in 2021. Superlinked raised a $9.5M seed round led by Index Ventures in March 2024, and the company is on a mission to make vector-based retrieval accessible and production-ready for enterprises.
Jerry Liu
Jerry Liu is the co-founder and CEO of LlamaIndex, the open-source data framework that became essential infrastructure for connecting large language models to enterprise data. What started as a weekend side project in November 2022 - an indexing tool he built to feed his own data into GPT-3 - grew into a company with $46.5M in total funding, 600,000+ monthly downloads, and clients including Salesforce, KPMG, and Carlyle. A Princeton computer science graduate who published GAN research as an undergrad, Liu moved from Quora's feed ranking team to Uber's autonomous vehicle research labs before co-founding LlamaIndex with former Uber colleague Simon Suo in early 2023.
